What is The Game of Life?

A few posts ago, empower-your-life-easily-with-spiritual-laws I wrote about the book above (click on it and you can get your own copy).  I thought I’d just give you a smattering of what’s in store when you begin to play the Game of Life!  Perhaps this metaphysical mambo jambo doesn’t interest you which I understand because at first, it sounded a bit looney to me too.  However, when I opened my heart and mind and just allowed myself to read it without any judgment or preconceived notions, I found it intrinsically fascinating…and honestly, I am a believer!

Because by simply applying some of the affirmations into my daily life, I’ve found an abundance of synchronicity which has entered my life in the most astounding of ways.  In fact, I awake most mornings in great anticipation of what little miracles will arrive and make sure that I try to be attentive so that I don’t miss a trick!

When I get up in the morning, I begin my day by saying the following

“Today is a day of completion.  Thy will be done today, not mine.

Miracle follows miracle.  I give thanks for this perfect day.

Please give me a definite lead, let me know if there is anything I need to do.”

I will tell you that my life changed when I went back to my love of learning and tweaked what I was doing.  Saying affirmations is only helpful when you are doing the rest of the work as well.  You can say all the affirmations you want, but without following through with the rest of your day, you aren’t giving yourself the power within you to enjoy its full force of positivity!

Here’s a little excerpt from Chapter One ~

So we see, to play successfully the game of life, we must train the imaging faculty. A person with an imaging faculty trained to image only good, brings into his life “every righteous desire of his heart”—health, wealth, love, friends, perfect self-expression, his highest ideals.

The imagination has been called, “The Scissors of The Mind, “and it is ever cutting, cutting, day by day, the pictures man sees there, and sooner or later he meets his own creations in his outer world. To train the imagination successfully, man must understand the workings of his mind. The Greeks said: “Know Thyself.”

There are three departments of the mind, the subconscious, conscious and superconscious.  The subconscious, is simply power, without direction. It is like steam or electricity, and it does what it is directed to do; it has no power of induction.  Whatever man feels deeply or images clearly, is impressed upon the subconscious mind, and carried out in minutest detail.

“There is a place that you are to fill and no one else can fill, something you are to do, which no one else can do.”  There is a perfect picture of this in the super conscious mind. It usually flashes across the conscious as an unattainable ideal – “something too good to be true.”

In reality it is man’s true destiny (or destination) flashed to him from the Infinite Intelligence which is within himself.

Speak these words aloud, with power and conviction,

“I now smash and demolish (by my spoken word) every untrue record in my subconscious mind.

They shall return to the dust-heap of their native nothingness, for they came from my own vain imaginings.

I now make my perfect records through the Christ within—The records of Health, Wealth, Love

and perfect self-Expression.”  This is the square of life, The Game completed.

So, have you heard of her before?

What do you think so far?

Please let me know!

  1. So funny you mention this book .. I recently purchased it and have enjoyed reading every word of it. It’s the kind of book that’s a keeper and one that I know I’ll need to read several times for it all to sink in. I only wish I got my hands on this book a couple of decades ago!!

One thing I’d like to add is that many of the ‘beliefs’ we have engrained into our image of ‘self’ are as a result of how we were ‘programmed,’ for example, by the people in our lives, education and the media. Much of this programming, in my opinion, takes us farther and farther away from our true selves.

Part of my work is to discover & acknowledge those negative beliefs and reflect on their ‘original incident,’ which lessens the negative power they have over me! Some refer to this as unlearning (negative programming) and remembering (who you are).
