Love is in the air…

While I was in the grocery store, I happened down the card aisle as I love cards and saw the sea of pinks and reds!  Ahhh…Valentine’s Day is coming ~ which of course, brought a huge smile to my face because I love sending out love and this is the holiday for just that!

How do you feel about Valentine’s Day?  Is it the holiday that you love (pun intended!) or is the one that you’d rather skip for personal reasons?  Do you feel it’s a lovers only occasion or are you like me and think that it’s the perfect time to send out love to everyone that you care for in your life?  You see, I’ve always been the type of person who wants you to know how much I love you because I never want any regrets.  In fact, I make sure when my boys leave everyday for school and my hubby goes off to work, that I kiss them all goodbye and tell them that I love them.  I just can’t help it ~ it’s just the way I’m wired!

I’ve told you how I’ve reached out with my cards to others and how I’ve said what I wanted to say without worries of silence on the other end of the phone ~ I’ve reconnected with family click here to read   with whom I’d grown apart through my cards and healed relationships…and hopefully I’ve made others’ days with a surprise card in the mail amidst the bills and junk mail.  You know how that feels don’t you?  That happy surprised feeling when you see that envelope in the mailbox ~ it’s the one you open first because you want to know what it says ~ it’s a priceless feeling which is why I send a card everyday!  I want everyone to get that special smile on their face!

How about you?  What keeps you back from sending cards?  Don’t know what to say?  Hate spending $5 or more for a card which doesn’t say what you want?  Do you find that you buy a card but never send it because you can’t find a stamp or the right address?  Or is it that you can’t find a card that you like?  Do you speak French, Portuguese, German, Italian or Spanish and want to write in your language but find that it’s difficult to find cards?

Be the one who remembers…

2012 was a rocky year for me, 4 major surgeries, the passing away of my Dad, the added responsibilities that accompany closing down his business (of which I know little about) and the taking care of my Mom who relied on my Dad for everything.  AAngel (my sister) and I have been dealing with all of the nuances of this literally life changing event in our family and it’s been sad and hard and frustrating.

However, it’s made me realize how grateful I am for everyone and everything in my life.  There’s a saying that I heard which says without the clouds, you cannot experience the rainbow…so as the rains came, I knew that eventually the sun would emerge and I tried to simply be in that moment and not fight the sadness.  It was a huge shift for me and one that I am grateful for experiencing.

My goal this year is again, to be present, to enjoy the Presents of Presence as it were…and to be grateful for the experiences of 2013.    Part of being grateful I believe is to show your gratitude and connect by sharing it with others.  With my Dad’s death, I learned how much of an impact he made on so may people simply by calling them on their birthdays.  I learned that he called all of his clients on their birthdays every year and sang the first line of the birthday song to them.  Now you may think that is nothing, but I can’t even begin to tell you how many emails, how many notes, how many phone calls I’ve received from people in the last 6 months telling me how their birthdays weren’t the same without my Dad’s traditional birthday call.  Something so simple and yet so powerful…I love the legacy that he left for so many people…

In the same vein, although with my own twist, I’ve done the same thing with my business ~ except since my choral days are over, I’ve turned to card sending which for me is a bit more concrete because you have a card to hold, to cherish and to be a loving reminder for years to come.  How I wish my Dad had written more cards to us instead of calling ~ imagine how wonderful it would have been to have held his loving words in my hands when I needed to hear from him now that he’s passed?  Imagine your loved ones holding your priceless words of encouragement, your pictures, your videos in the palm of their hands for years to come?

Are you a card person?  Or are you like AAngel and find having to drive to the store to then stand in front of the shelves until you find a card that costs between 4-6 dollars which doesn’t quite say what you want appalling?  You want to be that person who remembers everyone’s special day, but quite frankly, you simply don’t have the time to add one more ‘do’ on your to do list?  You have an entire family and work schedule to keep track of so how can you keep track of anyone else’s stuff?

Well, the solution is simple…SendOutCards is a free system which keeps track of all of that for you ~ and acts like your own personal assistant whether you use it for business or personal use!  Need reminders of friends’, family members’, clients’, customers’ birthdays, anniversaries, children’s names or need to write notes about them?  There’s an online address book which allows you to put everyone’s special days in the calendar so you never miss sending a card and even a gift!  You can be that person who remembers everyone and makes them feel special!  You simply log onto your computer, iPhone, iPad, kindle or android at any hour, from any place and send a card/gift on time ~ saving you time, saving you money (a card costs less than $1) and getting the card that you want instead of trying to be satisfied with something that only feels ok from the store.  Add pictures?  Add a video?  Add your logo?  Sure!  Write in your own handwriting?  Yup!  Pick a card from our catalog or make your own from scratch!  Add a gift card?  Mrs. Field’s cookies?  A toy?  Jewelry?  A trinket?  Yes!  You can even schedule your cards to be sent out up to a year in advance!  Or send the same card to many people but personalize each one!  It takes 5 minutes to do and yet, SendOutCards is not a household name…yet!

We are an INTERNATIONAL company with distributors in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, United Kingdom and Singapore.  But you can be a customer from anywhere and you can send cards and gifts to anywhere!  That’s the beauty of the free system!  Buy only what you need ~ there’s a pay as you go option or a subscription ~ whatever works best for you!  Yes, it’s that simple!

So come join me and be the one that remembers ~

Give the priceless gift of thoughtfulness

You’ll be glad you did!

Love and Money 7

Love

There’s so much to LOVE that I don’t know where to start…so I’m just giving you a little bit of Florence’s chapter on Love…

Excerpt from Chapter 7

Real love is selfless and free from fear. It pours itself out upon the object of its affection, without demanding any return. Its joy is in the joy of giving. Love is God in manifestation, and the strongest magnetic force in the universe. Pure, unselfish love draws to itself its own; it does not need to seek or demand. Scarcely anyone has the faintest conception of real love…”You can never receive what you have never given. Give a perfect love and you will receive a perfect love.

Then I told her of a brotherhood in India, who never said, “Good Morning” to each other. They used these words: “I salute the Divinity in you.” They saluted the divinity in every man, and in the wild animals in the jungle, and they were never harmed, for they saw only God in every living thing.

No man can attract money if he despises it. Many people are kept in poverty by saying: “Money means nothing to me, and I have a contempt for people who have it.”  Money is God in manifestation, as freedom from want and limitation, but it must be always kept in circulation and put to right uses. Hoarding and saving react with grim vengeance.  This does not mean that man should not have houses and lots, stocks and bonds, for “the barns of the righteous man shall be full.” It means man should not hoard even the principal, if an occasion arises, when money is necessary.  In letting it go out fearlessly and cheerfully he opens the way for more to come in, for God is man’s unfailing and inexhaustible supply.  This is the spiritual attitude towards money and the great Bank of the Universal never fails!

People are sometimes filled with remorse for having done someone an unkindness, perhaps years ago.  If the wrong cannot be righted, its effect can be neutralized by doing some one a kindness in the present.

So what do you think of this chapter on Love and Money?

Do you agree?  Want to read more?

The Law of Nonresistance 4

The Chinese say that water is the most powerful element, because it is perfectly nonresistant.

It can wear away a rock, and sweep all before it.

Hence a card of The Grand Canyon…

Check out the beauty of the Grand Canyon!  Here’s a great example of the Law of Nonresistance!  Have you visited it?  Well, it’s on MY bucket list! 🙂

Have you ever just decided to stop trying, stop controlling a situation and just let go…and miraculously, it all comes together for you?  Has that ever happened to you?  You know the saying, Go with the Flow?  Well, that’s the Law of Nonresistance…have you heard of it?  Do you know anything about it?  Do you practice it?  I’d love to hear from you about what you are thinking of Florence’s ideas and her book!  I know it’s a bit old-fashioned, but it’s tried and true.

Excerpts from our friend Florence’s Chapter 4 The Law of Nonresistance

“Resist not evil. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”  Nothing on earth can resist an absolutely nonresistant person.  “Bless your enemy, and you rob him of his ammunition.” His arrows will be transmuted into blessings.  This law is true of nations as well as individuals. Bless a nation, send love and good-will to every inhabitant, and it is robbed of its power to harm.  Man can only get the right idea of nonresistance, through spiritual understanding. My students have often said: “I don’t want to be a door-mat.” I reply “when you use nonresistance with wisdom, no one will ever be able to walk over you.”

One’s ships come in over a calm sea.

So long as man resists a situation, he will have it with him. If he runs away from it, it will run after him.

Make an affirmation immediately upon waking.  For example:  “Thy will be done this day! Today is a day of completion; I give thanks for this perfect day, miracle shall follow miracle and wonders shall never cease.” Make this a habit, and one will see wonders and miracles come into his life.

One morning I picked up a book and read, “Look with wonder at that which is before you!” It seemed to be my message for the day, so I repeated again and again, “Look with wonder at that which is before you.” ~ from Florence!

My advice is to pick an affirmation which speaks to you and use it today…

Below is mine…Feel free to share it!

“I have a wonderful work, in a wonderful way, I give wonderful service, for wonderful pay!”

Let me know what happens tomorrow! 🙂

What is The Game of Life?

A few posts ago, empower-your-life-easily-with-spiritual-laws I wrote about the book above (click on it and you can get your own copy).  I thought I’d just give you a smattering of what’s in store when you begin to play the Game of Life!  Perhaps this metaphysical mambo jambo doesn’t interest you which I understand because at first, it sounded a bit looney to me too.  However, when I opened my heart and mind and just allowed myself to read it without any judgment or preconceived notions, I found it intrinsically fascinating…and honestly, I am a believer!

Because by simply applying some of the affirmations into my daily life, I’ve found an abundance of synchronicity which has entered my life in the most astounding of ways.  In fact, I awake most mornings in great anticipation of what little miracles will arrive and make sure that I try to be attentive so that I don’t miss a trick!

When I get up in the morning, I begin my day by saying the following

“Today is a day of completion.  Thy will be done today, not mine.

Miracle follows miracle.  I give thanks for this perfect day.

Please give me a definite lead, let me know if there is anything I need to do.”

I will tell you that my life changed when I went back to my love of learning and tweaked what I was doing.  Saying affirmations is only helpful when you are doing the rest of the work as well.  You can say all the affirmations you want, but without following through with the rest of your day, you aren’t giving yourself the power within you to enjoy its full force of positivity!

Here’s a little excerpt from Chapter One ~

So we see, to play successfully the game of life, we must train the imaging faculty. A person with an imaging faculty trained to image only good, brings into his life “every righteous desire of his heart”—health, wealth, love, friends, perfect self-expression, his highest ideals.

The imagination has been called, “The Scissors of The Mind, “and it is ever cutting, cutting, day by day, the pictures man sees there, and sooner or later he meets his own creations in his outer world. To train the imagination successfully, man must understand the workings of his mind. The Greeks said: “Know Thyself.”

There are three departments of the mind, the subconscious, conscious and superconscious.  The subconscious, is simply power, without direction. It is like steam or electricity, and it does what it is directed to do; it has no power of induction.  Whatever man feels deeply or images clearly, is impressed upon the subconscious mind, and carried out in minutest detail.

“There is a place that you are to fill and no one else can fill, something you are to do, which no one else can do.”  There is a perfect picture of this in the super conscious mind. It usually flashes across the conscious as an unattainable ideal – “something too good to be true.”

In reality it is man’s true destiny (or destination) flashed to him from the Infinite Intelligence which is within himself.

Speak these words aloud, with power and conviction,

“I now smash and demolish (by my spoken word) every untrue record in my subconscious mind.

They shall return to the dust-heap of their native nothingness, for they came from my own vain imaginings.

I now make my perfect records through the Christ within—The records of Health, Wealth, Love

and perfect self-Expression.”  This is the square of life, The Game completed.

So, have you heard of her before?

What do you think so far?

Please let me know!

Empower Your Life Easily With Spiritual Laws!

Above is a portrait of an author that you may not have heard of before now.  I found her picture and within 2 minutes, I put her picture in the frame above, typed in her name/dates, pressed save and copied my latest card to my blog.  Literally 5 minutes to do…just wanted to show you that my pictures are always cards that either I’ve made or ones from our catalog.  That’s the fun of SendOutCards…but…

I’m on a roll and I want to take you with me…I’ve learned a lot in my life and I think the time is now for me to share it!  It’s the tidbits, the little and big things that I find that make my life so much easier, happier and can help me when my days are not all sunshine and rainbows or when I need a little pick me up!

I was talking with BAngel recently and I was telling her about a book that I am re-reading for perhaps the 8th time.  It’s easy reading…a pick up and put down book that will delight you, will make you think (but not too hard) and will easily change your perspective!  KAngel gave me the book years ago and I was quickly taken with it.  In fact, it’s one that I reread on a regular basis, much like many reread the Secret.  Have you read the Secret?  It came out back in 2006 in case you missed it!  It’s an easy read and there’s even a dvd for it as well as other books.

However, I’m going back to 1925…long before the popular Secret ~ to a time when a woman who was an artist and an metaphysics teacher in New York named Florence Scovel Shinn wrote 4 amazing books.   She had the ability to explain her success principles and how they worked in an entertaining and easy-to-read manner.  By sharing real-life stories she illustrated how positive attitudes and affirmations invariably succeed in making you a “winner” in life and able to control life’s conditions and release abundance through a knowledge of spiritual law.

Florence had quite the following back in her hey day!  In 1925, Florence published “The Game of Life and How to Play It”  herself because she didn’t have a publisher at the time.

Her next book, “Your Word is Your Wand” was published in 1928.

“The Secret Door to Success” was published in 1940 shortly before her death.

The “Power of the Spoken Word” is a compendium of her notes, gathered by a student and published posthumously in 1945.

All 4 books are a wonderful reminder that YOU CAN EMPOWER YOUR LIFE!

So join me ~ for some old time favorites which will change your life in ways you never imagined!

A New Dawn

Good Morning to YOU!  I awoke early this morning and I have truly enjoyed such a delightful few hours that I don’t care that I’ve not had much sleep as they were so wonderful to experience that I am feeling even more blessed than usual.  In the quiet of the very early morning (think 3am!) I began my day today, enjoying a fresh cup of my favorite  Breakfast Blend (best price I’ve found thus far so thought I’d share), flanked by ‘the girls’ (our 2 cats) and the peaceful quiet of the early morning.

I am excited because things are starting to roll for me again…I can see the new dawn and a new beginning for me.  I am feeling a new-found energy which I had lost and I think that the taking care of me which I have been deliberately planning is beginning to work its magic!  Yesterday,  I met with my friend KAngel who in her infinite and patient wisdom helped me to re-see my vision that I had formed awhile ago.  I am excitedly working on something new which I’ll unveil soon ~ and KAngel’s been a big part of it.

But since I had so much me time that I hadn’t planned on, I thought I’d just peruse a few blogs this morning that I follow and what a beautiful gift this morning’s array of blog posts was!  In fact, some of them were a few days old and then as I went through the archives, I dug deeper into a few that I hadn’t seen before and the next thing I knew, it was 6am and time to awaken the troops!

Ahh…but I received so many gifts this morning that I thought I’d reblog a couple of them.  This is a first for me so I’m not quite sure if I am doing it right, but here goes!

Anything is Possible…Think Snow!

So, it’s back to work, back to school and back to reality with summer a happy memory behind us and fall on it’s way.  But before we let the warm weather disappear, I have a true story for you!  Read on my friends…

Last summer we were out on our boat with my sister and her family.  The subject of positive thinking came up and my hubby stated that Anything is Possible.  My sister enjoys egging him on, so she began a discussion with him that went something like this:

“Anything is possible,” said my hubby.

“No it’s not.” countered my sister.

“Name one thing that’s not possible.”

“Snow.”

“It’s possible.”

“Right now?  In the middle of the summer heat with not a cloud in the sky?”

“Yes, why not?”

With a triumphant smile on her face, she laughed at him, until she turned around and saw…

Think Snow

This boat had just come into our view at just that exact moment!  Can you imagine all of our surprise?  We’ve never seen the boat before nor ever again.  She quickly snapped a picture of it so that we could always remember the story of “Think Snow” and it’s been a family favorite ever since…

So, the next time you aren’t sure if positive thinking works,

“Think Snow” even when it’s summertime!

Anything Is Possible!
