In the infinity

of life

where I am,

all is perfect, whole and complete.

– Louise L. Hay

At age 90, surrounded by loved ones, Louise Hay passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on August 30, 2017.  Many will remember her legacy of healing through her business  Hay House as well as the plethora of books she authored.  She shared authors who brought peace, love and empowerment into our lives through Hay House.

I remember the first time I was given her book, You Can Heal Your Life back in 2002.  I had breast cancer and I was so troubled by the diagnosis and feared what lay in store for me.  A friend tried to explain how in reading her book, I would be healing myself, but back then, I wasn’t very spiritual.  However, the dear-hearted friend who gave me the book was further along on the spiritual journey than me and I trusted her with my heart.

So I read You can Heal Your Life and I began to shift – in my thoughts, in my words, in my healing, and with love in my heart.  I have never looked back at the woman who held a book in her hands disbelieving that Louise Hay’s simple message could change me so profoundly.  And yet, here I am.

Louise Hay’s book began my spiritual journey and my soul healing.  I am ever grateful to my friend for opening the door to me by giving me her book.  I am ever grateful to Louise Hay for believing in herself and for being the light in so many lives.  She helped many of us find the light again.  God Bless You Louise Hay.  Thank you for my healing – one book, one thought, and one affirmation at a time.

Shine On!

Before You Can “Let Go and Let God”

beforeyoucan

“Before you can, ‘Let Go and Let God,’

you have to let Him in!”

Such simple advice for a Sunday, don’t you think?  Traditionally Sunday is a day of rest from the week’s work and a day designed to relax, to enjoy and to be aware that life is good.  It is a day for family, for enjoyment and for pleasure.

Take some time today to pray, to meditate, and to enjoy stillness with gratitude.  If you can, walk outside to experience the gifts Mother Nature brings every single day.  Look up to the sky, notice the clouds, the stars, the sun and the moon.  If it’s raining, feel the raindrops and the gratitude for the water which feeds all life.  Be grateful for the blessings in your life, even the tiniest ones like waking up this morning!  When we begin to notice even the littlest blessings, more blessings come to us because we are concentrating on that which we have and not what we feel we lack.

Letting go and letting God is scary for many of us have that sense of wanting to be in control and believing we can make things happen simply by actions or wishing or even saying affirmations and imagining what we want to come to us.  By all means, use whatever you find comfort in, but don’t forget about God.  Pray for what is yours by Divine Right.  What is yours, comes to you with perfect timing.  We can’t rush what is to be.  We can only allow what we have now to flourish, to do our best in all that we do and trust that the Universe and God will provide.  Just like the birds who find food even in the scarcest of winters, God provides for us.  We just have to let Him in and allow Him to help us by trusting Him.

Don’t lose faith when what you wish for doesn’t come to fruition.  It’s not meant to be.  As they say, you can’t push the river, but you can go with the flow.  Continue with your actions, but be mindful and watch for signs from Above.  Ask if you are on the right path and know when there’s a detour, it’s probably meant to be.

I write for you and for myself as reminders.  I am guilty of trying to push the river, to plan ahead and to take action for what I want and sometimes it all backfires.  Then I begin again because I feel as if I need to be in control.  But it’s laughable at times since control is an illusion.

When we let God in, we allow miraculous healing to occur.  We allow blessings to expand and we allow gifts to be experienced.  We are each blessed.  Be thankful.

Shine On!

Harmony Begins With You!

harmonybeginswithyouHarmony Begins With You!

Have you ever felt out of sorts?  It feels like nothing seems to be going right in your life?  All of your endeavors appear fruitless?  Your relationships are skewed, finances in disarray?  Health problems plague you?  Even the weather and your plans aren’t cooperating?  Well, there may be an easy explanation for the confusion you are enduring.

Harmony begins with you.

It’s a simple solution, but some may balk at the notion that the chaos you are experiencing is manifested by the inharmonious thoughts in your own mind.  Perhaps, I can show you what I mean.

Let’s experiment.  Today, let’s look carefully at our thoughts, actions and words.  Try for 15 minutes to notice what you are thinking, writing, believing, saying and doing.  What negativity do you observe?  You may find your mind is bombarding you with worry, fear, regret, anger and resentment.  These feelings manifest themselves in your daily life, wreaking havoc in every plan and experience.  It’s a vicious cycle that only you can change.  And the best news is, You Can!

Back in 2012, I wrote about a favorite book that I reread when I need a gentle reminder to clear myself and realign my thinking.  Here is the post.  At the time, I even did a series of posts on Florence Scovel Shinn’s books, taking tidbits which I felt highlighted the essence of what she was writing and sharing what I felt pertained to most of us at that time in my life.

Recently I picked up the book again to re-ignite the harmony which I felt was missing.  Many of her affirmations jumped out at me, but one in particular resonates and I think it might be helpful to you.

I am poised, harmonious and magnetic.

So my prescription to you, should find yourself in the above situations is this:

Rx ~ Read, write, speak aloud the affirmation above today 10x.

Be grateful for your poise, harmony and magnetism.

Simply take a moment out of your day at small intervals and repeat the Rx.

Do this for a few days and see how your mind/life responds.

Be aware when you are thinking negatively.  Stay conscious as you go about your day.  Think twice before spewing anger and instead, simply repeat the affirmation.  It may feel funny at first, but feel free to try.  You may just notice that harmony begins to enrich your life; pathways open, you feel better, opportunities arise and you are enveloped in a peaceful embrace by the Universe.

Let me know what you think!  Have you ever heard of Florence Scovel Shinn?

Share below when you feel a shift in your thinking.

Today is…

70024452_

Today is a day of completion.  Thy will be done today Lord not mine.

Miracle follows miracle.  I give thanks for this perfect day.

Please give me a definite lead.  Let me know if there is anything I need to do.

The above is the set of affirmations which came to me this morning when I hit the snooze button on my alarm clock.  The memorized phrases came unbidden as they often do and as usual, I simply went with the flow, repeating them until the alarm blared again, announcing it was really time to get up!

I’ve spoken about affirmations before in many posts.  If you search Louise Hay or Florence Scovel Shinn on my blog (below I’ve given you a few links!) you’ll find oodles of information in case you’re interested.  For me, affirmations are a way to psychically, emotionally and sometimes perhaps physically, change the channel in my mindset.

I can only speak for myself, but there have been times where my mind repetitively blocks the flow of energy to my body by concentrating on a thought that’s not healthy for me.  So when I realize this, I simply change the channel by introducing another thought, another affirmation.  It’s like dealing with a child who’s attracted to the flame of a candle.  You simply take her hand and lead her to something that’s more interesting so that she forgets about the allure of the flame and changes her focus to something less dangerous and more positive.  As a parent, you probably know what I mean, don’t you?

So I find that my mind sometimes needs a little reset button ~ even a delete button and I’ve learned how to change the channel in order to stay on track.  It’s really quite simple.  I have an arsenal of affirmations which speak to me.  I listed them and can pull up the file as needed.  Of course, I’ve been doing this for awhile now so many of them are already memorized.  It’s like checking the file cabinet in my mind.

Here are a few I use often:

Divine Love floods my consciousness with health and every cell in my body is filled with light.

Money comes to me under grace in perfect ways.

I give thanks that I am abundantly supported.

I am blessed beyond my wildest dreams.

I give thanks that the life that is mine is filled with love,

laughter, health, wealth and happiness for all.

I am thankful that I am led today where I am most helpful

and I share happiness wherever I go.

I hope this helps you as it has helped me in my life.  What do you do to reset your brain when you’re worried, scared or sad?  Connect with me and let’s share so that we can all benefit!

Happy Thursday to YOU!

Shine On!

The End!

Replace Fear with Faith ~ 6

Casting the Burden

Casting the burden you say…has she gone wacky this Saturday morning?  What in the world does that mean?  Is this a fishing post?  We’ve never had one of those!  No, my dear friends, it’s not a fishing post, but a cleaning out the mind post and casting the burden of fear out of your head post!  Tossing the old, gunky fears out of you and letting in the light of knowledge.  How’s that?  Just a new way of thinking…a way in which you can walk up to that fearsome lion of ____ (insert whatever you fear) and find he’s only a friendly Airedale (dog) waiting for you to pet him! (from Florence’s chapter 6 reworded by yours truly).

Simply put, replace fear with faith!

Excerpt from Chapter 6

When man knows his own powers and the workings of his mind, his great desire is to find an easy and quick way to impress the subconscious with good, for simply an intellectual knowledge of the Truth will not bring results.

In my own case, I found the easiest way is in “casting the burden.”  A metaphysician once explained it in this manner. He said, “The only thing which gives anything weight in nature, is the law of gravitation, and if a boulder could be taken high above the planet, there would be no weight in that boulder; and that is what Jesus Christ meant when he said: “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

In steadily repeating the affirmation, “I cast this burden on the Christ within, and go free,” the vision clears, and with it a feeling of relief, and sooner or later comes the manifestation of good, be it health, happiness or supply.

One of my students once asked me to explain the “darkness before the dawn.” I referred in a preceding chapter to the fact that often, before the big demonstration “everything seems to go wrong,” and deep depression clouds the consciousness. It means that out of the subconscious are rising the doubts and fears of the ages. These old derelicts of the subconscious rise to the surface, to be put out.

I am asked, so often by my students, “How can I get rid of fear?

I reply, “By walking up to the thing you are afraid of.”

“The lion takes its fierceness from your fear.”

Walk up to the lion, and he will disappear; run away and he runs after you.

One of my favorite affirmations is:

“I cast this burden on the Christ within, and go free!”

Try it out yourself!

The Law of Nonresistance 4

The Chinese say that water is the most powerful element, because it is perfectly nonresistant.

It can wear away a rock, and sweep all before it.

Hence a card of The Grand Canyon…

Check out the beauty of the Grand Canyon!  Here’s a great example of the Law of Nonresistance!  Have you visited it?  Well, it’s on MY bucket list! 🙂

Have you ever just decided to stop trying, stop controlling a situation and just let go…and miraculously, it all comes together for you?  Has that ever happened to you?  You know the saying, Go with the Flow?  Well, that’s the Law of Nonresistance…have you heard of it?  Do you know anything about it?  Do you practice it?  I’d love to hear from you about what you are thinking of Florence’s ideas and her book!  I know it’s a bit old-fashioned, but it’s tried and true.

Excerpts from our friend Florence’s Chapter 4 The Law of Nonresistance

“Resist not evil. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”  Nothing on earth can resist an absolutely nonresistant person.  “Bless your enemy, and you rob him of his ammunition.” His arrows will be transmuted into blessings.  This law is true of nations as well as individuals. Bless a nation, send love and good-will to every inhabitant, and it is robbed of its power to harm.  Man can only get the right idea of nonresistance, through spiritual understanding. My students have often said: “I don’t want to be a door-mat.” I reply “when you use nonresistance with wisdom, no one will ever be able to walk over you.”

One’s ships come in over a calm sea.

So long as man resists a situation, he will have it with him. If he runs away from it, it will run after him.

Make an affirmation immediately upon waking.  For example:  “Thy will be done this day! Today is a day of completion; I give thanks for this perfect day, miracle shall follow miracle and wonders shall never cease.” Make this a habit, and one will see wonders and miracles come into his life.

One morning I picked up a book and read, “Look with wonder at that which is before you!” It seemed to be my message for the day, so I repeated again and again, “Look with wonder at that which is before you.” ~ from Florence!

My advice is to pick an affirmation which speaks to you and use it today…

Below is mine…Feel free to share it!

“I have a wonderful work, in a wonderful way, I give wonderful service, for wonderful pay!”

Let me know what happens tomorrow! 🙂

The Law of Prosperity 2

The Law of Prosperity

Ready to explore chapter 2 a bit?  Hang on…you’re in for a bit of a ride!

You get what you believe you deserve.  How’s that for frustration?  Or have you learned to transcend the limits of your mind?  Well, Florence, yes, I think we’re now on a first name basis with the author of The Game of Life (click on the book and you can get it for your Kindle) has made the Law of Prosperity easy to understand and easy to apply to your life!

Here’s an excerpt from Chapter 2!

Getting into the spiritual swing of things is no easy matter for the average person. The adverse thoughts of doubt and fear surge from the subconscious. They are the “army of the aliens” which must be put to flight. This explains why it is so often, “darkest before the dawn.”

A big demonstration is usually preceded by tormenting thoughts.   Having made a statement of high spiritual truth one challenges the old beliefs in the subconscious, and “error is exposed” to be put out.  This is the time when one must make his affirmations of truth repeatedly, and rejoice and give thanks that he has already received. “Before ye call I shall answer.” This means that “every good and perfect gift” is already man’s awaiting his recognition.

Man can only receive what he sees himself receiving.   A keen observer of life once said, “no man can fail, if some one person sees him successful.” Such is the power of the vision, and many a great man has owed his success to a wife, or sister, or a friend who “believed in him” and held without wavering to the perfect pattern.

So…to all of my readers, I want you to know that I BELIEVE IN YOU!

I will hold that vision of your perfection in my mind…

Now go forth and prosper!  You deserve it!  So enjoy!!

What is The Game of Life?

A few posts ago, empower-your-life-easily-with-spiritual-laws I wrote about the book above (click on it and you can get your own copy).  I thought I’d just give you a smattering of what’s in store when you begin to play the Game of Life!  Perhaps this metaphysical mambo jambo doesn’t interest you which I understand because at first, it sounded a bit looney to me too.  However, when I opened my heart and mind and just allowed myself to read it without any judgment or preconceived notions, I found it intrinsically fascinating…and honestly, I am a believer!

Because by simply applying some of the affirmations into my daily life, I’ve found an abundance of synchronicity which has entered my life in the most astounding of ways.  In fact, I awake most mornings in great anticipation of what little miracles will arrive and make sure that I try to be attentive so that I don’t miss a trick!

When I get up in the morning, I begin my day by saying the following

“Today is a day of completion.  Thy will be done today, not mine.

Miracle follows miracle.  I give thanks for this perfect day.

Please give me a definite lead, let me know if there is anything I need to do.”

I will tell you that my life changed when I went back to my love of learning and tweaked what I was doing.  Saying affirmations is only helpful when you are doing the rest of the work as well.  You can say all the affirmations you want, but without following through with the rest of your day, you aren’t giving yourself the power within you to enjoy its full force of positivity!

Here’s a little excerpt from Chapter One ~

So we see, to play successfully the game of life, we must train the imaging faculty. A person with an imaging faculty trained to image only good, brings into his life “every righteous desire of his heart”—health, wealth, love, friends, perfect self-expression, his highest ideals.

The imagination has been called, “The Scissors of The Mind, “and it is ever cutting, cutting, day by day, the pictures man sees there, and sooner or later he meets his own creations in his outer world. To train the imagination successfully, man must understand the workings of his mind. The Greeks said: “Know Thyself.”

There are three departments of the mind, the subconscious, conscious and superconscious.  The subconscious, is simply power, without direction. It is like steam or electricity, and it does what it is directed to do; it has no power of induction.  Whatever man feels deeply or images clearly, is impressed upon the subconscious mind, and carried out in minutest detail.

“There is a place that you are to fill and no one else can fill, something you are to do, which no one else can do.”  There is a perfect picture of this in the super conscious mind. It usually flashes across the conscious as an unattainable ideal – “something too good to be true.”

In reality it is man’s true destiny (or destination) flashed to him from the Infinite Intelligence which is within himself.

Speak these words aloud, with power and conviction,

“I now smash and demolish (by my spoken word) every untrue record in my subconscious mind.

They shall return to the dust-heap of their native nothingness, for they came from my own vain imaginings.

I now make my perfect records through the Christ within—The records of Health, Wealth, Love

and perfect self-Expression.”  This is the square of life, The Game completed.

So, have you heard of her before?

What do you think so far?

Please let me know!
