Do You Believe in Friday the 13th?

fridaythe13th

Are you superstitious?  Do you believe in bad omens?  Do you walk around a ladder instead of underneath it?  If a black cat crossed your path, would it bother you?  Do you believe in Friday the 13th and all the hullabaloo about it?  Have you felt like you ever had bad luck on a Friday the 13th?  Do you think you are manifesting it?

I’m really interested in reading what you think so please comment below!

Personally I’m not bothered by Friday the 13th.  I lived in Spain years ago and for Spaniards, it was Tuesday the 13th which was the problem and not Friday, so I guess I’ve simply adopted that way of thinking.

But for those of you who are fear leaving your home today, going to work, traveling, investing or doing anything outside of your comfort zone, you are not alone.  You may have something called…

friggatriskaidekaphobia:  fear of Friday the 13th!

Yes, it’s true.  It’s a real phobia and there are many people who suffer from it.  So I guess I’m asking, are you one of them?  No judgment here, you know I love to connect with you!

Who’s Writing Your Life Story?

pen

“When writing the story of your life,

don’t let anyone else hold the pen.” ~ Unknown

You are the author of your own life story.  It is YOU who holds the pen and the key and the power of choice.  For all of those who feel helpless (and I’ve been there) and unable to move forward to do what you want, to get what you deserve and to find peace and happiness in your life ~ now’s your chance to take back your power of the pen in your own life.

When I say, ‘take back your power,’ I am not meaning it in a bad way or a way in which you hurt others around you.  Oh no, far from that.  What I mean is that you take back the power of making your own good choices,  owning your inner strength, doing/being what increases your happiness, facing your responsibility to yourself and to others for whom you are responsible and for simply, lovingly picking up the pen to write your own life story.

You are not a prisoner in this life, but you can very well be your own jailer.

Too often we allow others the power in our lives; we let them make the decisions for how we will live.  Sometimes it’s out of fear or laziness, but carelessly tossing the power of living your life to the best of your ability is a mistake.  However, it is a mistake for which there’s an eraser that can change what happens from this moment forward.  You must be courageous though, you may not act with fear in your heart.  Instead be fearless, be loving, be kind, walk with truth, honesty and integrity.  See your world spherically and not linearly.  Look around at all you can be grateful for and then bless those gifts.  You have the presents of presence today and always.  Now let’s plan a life that you enjoy living.

What makes you happy?  What makes you sad?  What do you wish you could do?  What are your dreams?  What do you not want in your life?  What do you want more of and less of in your amazing life?  These are questions that take time to answer and you need to allow that time to let those questions sink into your mind and body.  Let them settle in a bit and find peace before answering.  Then allow your pen to write the answers down without questioning, without monitoring, without judging.  Let a free flowing pen ink your dreams and desires.  Whatever you see and want, you can achieve if you believe.

So believe that this is your special life.  Don’t throw your power away!  Use it, pick up your pen and write your best life’s story because you can!  This is your life my dears!  Go enjoy it!

The Secret of Success

73167707_

“People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things.

When they believe in themselves they have the first secret of success.”
—Norman Vincent Peale

In stretching out of my comfort zone these last few weeks, I’ve found that when I let go of all of the stuff I carry around in my head, you know, those nagging thoughts of negativity, I’m finding that success is coming my way.  I’m becoming less attached the the outcomes and more involved in the taking of baby steps towards my goals!  Are you having the same experiences?

Have  you been stretching these past few weeks with me?  Are you finding that your life is opening up a bit more for the better?  Let me know what’s going on with you!  If I can help in any way, you know I’ve got my hand held out for you!  When I focus on simply stretching out of my comfort zones everyday in whatever shape that takes, I am finding that I am enjoying life more ~ I am having more success ~ I am making more connections with others ~ and in turn, I am able to help others to find their success as well!

Norman Vincent Peale wrote many inspirational books, one being  The Power of Positive Thinking.  Even though this book it was originally published in 1952,  its fundamental truths continue to hold today.

So, on this Happy Monday, I thought I’d start the week off with a bit of success for us all!  I am grateful to Paul Mark Sutherland for today’s quote ~ please click here  to be directed to his blog called Goal Habits.com which is one of my favorites that I read every morning for inspiration!

Today is…

70024452_

Today is a day of completion.  Thy will be done today Lord not mine.

Miracle follows miracle.  I give thanks for this perfect day.

Please give me a definite lead.  Let me know if there is anything I need to do.

The above is the set of affirmations which came to me this morning when I hit the snooze button on my alarm clock.  The memorized phrases came unbidden as they often do and as usual, I simply went with the flow, repeating them until the alarm blared again, announcing it was really time to get up!

I’ve spoken about affirmations before in many posts.  If you search Louise Hay or Florence Scovel Shinn on my blog (below I’ve given you a few links!) you’ll find oodles of information in case you’re interested.  For me, affirmations are a way to psychically, emotionally and sometimes perhaps physically, change the channel in my mindset.

I can only speak for myself, but there have been times where my mind repetitively blocks the flow of energy to my body by concentrating on a thought that’s not healthy for me.  So when I realize this, I simply change the channel by introducing another thought, another affirmation.  It’s like dealing with a child who’s attracted to the flame of a candle.  You simply take her hand and lead her to something that’s more interesting so that she forgets about the allure of the flame and changes her focus to something less dangerous and more positive.  As a parent, you probably know what I mean, don’t you?

So I find that my mind sometimes needs a little reset button ~ even a delete button and I’ve learned how to change the channel in order to stay on track.  It’s really quite simple.  I have an arsenal of affirmations which speak to me.  I listed them and can pull up the file as needed.  Of course, I’ve been doing this for awhile now so many of them are already memorized.  It’s like checking the file cabinet in my mind.

Here are a few I use often:

Divine Love floods my consciousness with health and every cell in my body is filled with light.

Money comes to me under grace in perfect ways.

I give thanks that I am abundantly supported.

I am blessed beyond my wildest dreams.

I give thanks that the life that is mine is filled with love,

laughter, health, wealth and happiness for all.

I am thankful that I am led today where I am most helpful

and I share happiness wherever I go.

I hope this helps you as it has helped me in my life.  What do you do to reset your brain when you’re worried, scared or sad?  Connect with me and let’s share so that we can all benefit!

Happy Thursday to YOU!

Shine On!

Hearing Heartbeats

69132261_

The Art Of Hearing Heartbeats by Jan-Philipp Sendker

I love how when you allow your life to flow, you receive what you need.  The adage that the teacher comes when the student is ready also comes to mind as the above book came to me recently and I must tell you that I devoured it.  I mean truly ~ I started reading it yesterday and I finished it today!  There are not many times that I am so enthralled with a book that I neglect other things while I feel so compelled to read because it is so special.

A poignant and inspirational love story set in Burma, The Art of Hearing Heartbeats spans the decades between the 1950s and the present. When a successful New York lawyer suddenly disappears without a trace, neither his wife nor his daughter Julia has any idea where he might be…until they find a love letter he wrote many years ago, to a Burmese woman they have never heard of. Intent on solving the mystery and coming to terms with her father’s past, Julia decides to travel to the village where the woman lived. There she uncovers a tale of unimaginable hardship, resilience, and passion that will reaffirm the reader’s belief in the power of love to move mountains. (from Amazon)

On page 244, there came a paragraph which struck a chord in me and perhaps when you read it as well, it may do the same to you.  At times, love is difficult to see in our lives and it takes hearing the heartbeats of our loved ones in order to know that their love exists.  Perhaps you will find solace, love and understanding below as I did.

“Because we see only what we already know.  We project our own capacities `for good as well as evil’ ~ onto the other person.  Then we acknowledge as love primarily those things that correspond to our own image thereof.  We wish to be loved as we ourselves would love.  Any other way makes us uncomfortable.  We respond with doubt and suspicion.  We misinterpret the signs.  We do not understand the language.  We accuse.  We assert that the other person does not love us.  But perhaps he merely loves us in some idiosyncratic way that we fail to recognize.  I hope you will understand what I mean once I have finished my story.”

In the wake of my father’s death and in the healing of my heart as well as watching many friends recently (both in life and blogosphere) deal with the same circumstances, I feel the need to ignite the peace of understanding in our lives ~ hence this post today.   If you are interested, you can click below on the picture of the book and it will bring you to Amazon where you can buy it via kindle or hard cover as you wish.

Shine On!

Keep Loving!

Sunday’s Inspirational Gal

69200079_

This morning, I happened upon the story of an inspiring 16 year old Irish gal who in September of 2012, was awarded the People of the Year Award in Dublin, Ireland.  Her story can be found on her website which I included below ~ as well as many pictures from her FB page which you can find at http://www.nolimbsnolimits.net/ which is her official website!  Joanne was born with a rare physical disability called Total Amelia which means she was born without all four limbs even though there is no medical explanation for this occurrence.  Neither Joanne nor her family have ever allowed this to hold her back.  In fact, she is quite inspiring and I highly recommend that you click on her website above!

Words fail me in telling you her story, so I’ll let Joanne do it on her website.  Please, take a moment today to fill up your spiritual cup with a dose of love, extraordinary human spirit and endless possibility!  The word is not impossible, it’s…

I’m Possible!

Daily Prompt: “Think Global and Act Local”

8852308_

The reason why the Universe is eternal is that it does not live for itself;

it gives life to others as it transforms. -Lao Tzu

Today’s daily prompt:  “Think global, act local.” Write a post connecting a global issue to a personal one resonated with me and when I went searching for an image from my SendOutCards greeting card catalog, I knew I had to share!

With today’s daily prompt, I challenge you during the month of February to practice gratefulness for 30 days.  As an 11 year breast cancer survivor, I’ve learned that the key to enduring life’s journey is simple ~  LOVE and GRATITUDE.

World peace is possible by taking small steps ~ and it begins with you and me.

Imagine for a moment going to your mailbox  ~  you rummage through the junk mail, the bills, the newspapers, etc.  As you quickly peruse the pile, you see an envelope which isn’t a bill, isn’t junk mail and you’re curious.  This is the envelope you open first, isn’t it?  This envelope is an unexpected card from me ~ telling you how wonderful you are and how grateful I am for you in my life.  I  don’t know many of you personally, but as a blogging community we’ve bonded in a most unusual way.  The positivity that flows so effortlessly makes it easy for me to send you this real paper card to tell you how happy I am that we’ve connected and how much I enjoy reading your blog.

How do you feel?

Appreciated! Happy!  Special! Loved! Grateful!

And you are smiling…because someone thought of YOU today, took the time to tell YOU

how special YOU are and didn’t ask for anything in return.

That feeling is PRICELESS!

And the greeting card cost only $1 plus postage!

And there’s even financial freedom ~ SendOutCards gives residual income as you think globally by sending cards to everyone all over the world ~ in different languages and act locally by increasing happiness in your world because you are sending a heartfelt message in the card.  You even increase global economy by sending a beautiful card which you do from anywhere in the world, 24/7 via your computer or your phone.  How simple is that?

Sharing GRATITUDE and LOVE increases the good in your life.

Simply click onto GRATITUDE  and get a FREE ACCOUNT!

Daily Prompt with a Twist

1250_

A Heavenly Place

Today’s daily prompt said:  “Ode to a Playground…A place from your past or childhood, one that you’re fond of, is destroyed.  Write it a memorial,” and today I’m asking for a bit of leniency from you as I answer the question.  You see, last night, my son had a dream that was so vivid to him and it immediately brought me back to my childhood, so I wanted to share it with you.

I’ve been to Heaven.  There, I’ve said it and now those of you who want to can click away…and those who want to stay, please understand that I am opening up to this playground of my past for you.  No, I haven’t died before (although I’ve had a few close calls in my lifetime), but I have experienced Heaven which to me, is a playground of my past.

As a child, I was intuitive and I believe that as children, we are receptive to many energies which surround us but as we grow older, we tend to lose sight of them and stop connecting with them for those imaginings are not thought of as grown up…and yet the funny part I think is after we are grown up, we long to dream again, to open up to possibilities in our lives and we are reminded to stop and smell the roses.  Do you know what I mean?

For you see, I dreamed of Heaven and that dream, although it happened more than 25 years ago, is still as vivid to me as if I had dreamt it last night.  To me it was comforting to feel so at home in a place where I have not been in this lifetime except through dreams.  In fact, I have dreamt of the same house many times in the last 25 years and each time, there are people in the house with whom I speak or share a smile and they can see me ~ except they are all people who have already passed in my lifetime.

Ok, have I lost any of you yet?  Or are you still with me?

I guess what I am trying to say is that I believe that when we close the door to our playground of childhood, we destroy our dreams.  We destroy the ability to create our lives in the way in which our higher selves function.  The key is to not stop believing ~ to not stop the feeling of possibility ~ to continue to hold onto that playground of Heaven where love encompasses our every moment.

Imagine a world where we all kept that love alive in our hearts!

The Shift to Feeling Delicious!

68376555_

Through synchronicity last week, Hay House delivered to my inbox, the opportunity to download The Shift by Dr. Wayne Dyer for the incredibly low price of $1.99 .  Being the bargain shopper that I am, I immediately checked out the preview footage and being intrigued, I dug out my credit card to get the 2 hour movie to stream to my computer.  Now the next hurdle was how, as a busy Mom, wife and business owner, was I going to carve out 2 hours to watch it?  However, last Friday, I finally sat down to watch the movie…and it changed my life.

Usually I am not speechless when it comes to my blog (or to anything for that matter), but I have been unable to find the words to explain The Shift except to say that when the movie was finished, I laid down on my couch, closed my eyes for a few moments to take in the experience and felt a blissful peace that I hadn’t felt in years.  The words remarkable, stunning and life-changing come to mind ~ but I think the best is ~ I felt DELICIOUS!

Delicious?  Did she just write delicious?  That’s how food tastes, it’s not a feeling!

I know, I know…but have you ever felt delicious?  It’s a feeling I had never experienced until now and quite frankly, it’s one that I won’t forget in the near future.  Words escape me in explaining it more…but it was a calm, an inner healing, a feeling of complete happiness in my soul that I experienced and I’ve been able to call up that feeling for the last few days when I’ve gotten quiet and asked to feel it again.

I wanted to share it with you because it’s a new year and this was a new experience for me, one that I think you’ll enjoy, appreciate and one that may change your life for the better as it’s done to mine.  Whether you are a man or woman, this profound movie will easily touch you.  You don’t need to be an enlightened being to ‘get it’ nor does being an enlightened being make the move boring to you either…it’s one for all ages, for all people and for myself, it’s a keeper.

I’ve been quiet the last few days because I’ve been trying to figure out how I could tell you what ‘I feel delicious’ means…but I’ve decided that I’m just putting it out there for you to taste and see the delicious experience that The Shift brings.  Be open, let it gently wash over you and then let me know what you think!

Do you want to feel DELICIOUS too?

Shine On and Shift!
