Power Up ~ Let’s Write Your Success Story!

17171_Let’s Write a Success Story ~ YOURS!

This is your life.  There, I said it ~ whoops, I mean, I wrote it.  Not that you need me to tell you this, but sometimes I think we need to remind each other that we are in charge of our own lives.  It’s our decisions and our choices which have led us to this place called the Present.

The success or failure of our life rests in our capable hands.

How’s that for a truth?

What do you think about that?  Are you happy with your Present?  Do you wish to change it?  Well, you can!  It’s simple.  Starting now, take baby steps to change what you don’t like and grow what you do like!

What?  You don’t know what you want?  You can’t think of what you need?  You don’t know how to get it?  Are you feeling a bit overwhelmed?

Ok, let’s start at the beginning my friends…Step One ~ take out a piece of paper and write down your ultimate fantasy life ~ no holds barred, without limits, what would it look like?  Include all that you would like to enjoy in your life ~ does that include a loving partner?  Children?  Pets?  Home?  Car?  Job?  More money?  Happiness?  More Love?  Peace?  Friends?  Family?  Joy?  More free time?

Just free-write and list what you want to see in your life.  When you’ve exhausted your mind and added all that was swirling around, put down your pen and take a deep breath.  Now reread what you’ve just written.  Do you see a trend?  Is there a theme of what you want in life?

Are there any bits that you can accomplish today?  Do you have any of them already?  Can you ‘see’ yourself having them today or tomorrow or by the end of 2013?

There’s no need to do any more today, unless of course, you remember something else you want to add to your list.  Perhaps you should keep it with you this week as you go about your daily routine.  You never know when you’ll be inspired to add something else to your life list!

Shine On!

After I wrote my post today and just before I hit publish, the Daily Prompt came out ~ You’ve got the power is one of my favorite lines and theme running through my life!  If I could enact a single law, it would simply be the law that

YOU HAVE THE POWER to live your life exactly how you want to live it provided that it brings love, happiness and harmony to yourself and others!

Daily Prompt: You’ve Got the Power

You have the power to enact a single law. What would it be?

Inner Hotshot University!

72460666_Welcome to IHU!

Inner Hotshot University!

Happy Friday Y’All!  Are you revved up and ready to ROAR?  Now don’t hide from me, I’m not asking you to cure cancer today.  I”m just asking you to think of one thing that you can do to stretch out of your comfort zone a bit.  Just one little baby step or even a big huge step if you’re ready!  This is your life journey ~ I’m just here to help you take that step.

Anyone can participate ~ and please do!  Pass it along!  This is just for fun!

RULES:

1.  Commit to something outside your comfort zone.

2.  Comment below to tell us you’re participating!

3.  Share your commitment for the week

(or if you don’t want to share, just tell us that you’re participating)!

4.  Next Friday, we’ll compare notes on how it went!

5.  Check FB The Presents of Presence Click here!  for inspirational posts during the week.

6.  Know that we are rooting for you!  You’ve got peeps!

So I’ll start ~ it’s only fair, right?  Ok, so my stretch out of my comfort zone for this week is that:

I’m going to say YES to opportunities that come my way!

Now let’s be clear here, I won’t do anything illegal, immoral or against my will (nor should you)!  But I’ve gotten comfy just doing what I want to and what I feel like doing which isn’t always a good thing.  For example, I’ve wanted to try Zumba and I have a friend who’s invited me to take a class with her numerous times, but something always comes up.  This past week, I awoke with a migraine on Wednesday and had to cancel.  Although I really wanted to go, I think that sometimes my mind plays tricks with me and gave me a migraine because I feared looking foolish in front of a class because I would be new and wouldn’t know the steps.  In my fear of feeling foolish, I missed out on an opportunity to try something new, to giggle a bit, to get a bit of oxygen pumping with a little cardio and to enjoy time with my friend!  Does this make sense to you?  Have you self-sabotaged before and not even realized it?   Am I the only one out there?

Because the younger me, wouldn’t have worried about looking foolish, I would have just jumped at the chance to dance and burn calories!  I liked that Inner Hotshot who wasn’t afraid to try new things!  So I’m going to go for it this week!

So what’s your Inner Hotshot going to do this week?

Remember you can either commit to doing one thing like trying something new (like a Zumba class) and/or you can commit to a change in your life (like saying Yes to opportunity)!   Make sure it’s something that stretches you out of your comfort zone and puts a little fire in your belly!  Since this is the first week, just enjoy the change in thinking.  Don’t worry about what you choose ~ we don’t care here ~ we just want you to stretch your wings a bit ~ put a little Spring in your step!

~ Get back that Inner Hotshot ~

Shine On!

P.S.  I just saw the Daily Prompt and thought I’d include it as it’s a bit similar ~ with all of your Presents of Presence peeps by your side cyberly, you are guaranteed not to fail!  So now what are you going to do?

Daily Prompt: Too Big To Fail

Tell us about something you would attempt if you were guaranteed not to fail (and tell us why you haven’t tried it yet).

Be the One that Did!

10981605_All The Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas Layin’ In The Sun,

Talkin’ ‘Bout The Things They Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda Done…

But All Those Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas All Ran Away And Hid From One Little Did. Shel Silverstein

Talk is cheap ~ how many times have you heard that phrase?  Probably more times than we’d like to hear it, right?  Well, I’m learning that the hard way.  I’ve been wanting to expand my life for awhile now.  I’ve been floating and not really doing anything substantial with my life.  I know, part of you may think that I’ve been really busy which I have and part of you may think that I’ve not done enough.  Well, you are both right.  But now things are about to change for me.

I am embracing change and facing some fears ~ and it’s not easy.  It’s uncomfortable to step outside of your comfort zone.  In fact, it’s darn scary.  I feel like I have elephant-sized butterflies doing the samba in my stomach.  That’s what happens when I get scared or nervous.  Does that happen to you?  It’s like I feel like I”m going to throw up ~ I get that nauseous ~ but lucky for me, I never actually throw up because it’s the one thing I hate to do.  In fact, I hated it so much that I only threw up once during 6 months of chemotherapy when I was battling breast cancer!  I can be a really determined and stubborn gal when needed. 🙂

Anyway, last week I mentioned the idea of  IHU and many of you wondered what in the world I was talking about!  Click here to read it!

IHU ~ Inner Hotshot University

I created it on the fly, the name just popped into my head!  But I’m thinking that perhaps some of us could brush up and strengthen our inner hotshot and allow that sparkle to shine again in our lives!  Embrace that uniqueness that is you!  Be the light in the darkness ~ use our strengths and develop our weaknesses!  Do what scares us and stretch out of our comfort zones!

Let those butterflies enjoy a mambo number without falling to pieces!

What do you think?  I mean, we could sit here and talk all day long about the woulda-coulda-shoulda’s or we could try to find one thing that scares us and do it every week!  Would you do it?  How about if I double-dog dared you?

So my idea is that once a week, we post a challenge to ourselves to stretch out of our comfort zones.  You can just comment below and tell us or even just commit to doing one thing if you don’t want to reveal what it is.  But the key is that you must be honest and let us know if you did it by the next week!  And if you did, how about sharing how it went?  How you felt after you did it?  What do you think?  Is anyone interested?  Perhaps we could cheer eachother on?  Hold hands while we all jump off of the diving board into the crystal clear pool of life!

You have the power to Be the One That Did!

But wouldn’t it be fun to be the ONES that did?

Let me know if you’re up for the challenge!

We’ll start soon!

Shine On!
