Twinkly White Lights Make Me Happy

TwinklyWhiteLightsMakeMeHappy

The title of this post says it all!  I love Twinkly White Lights!  Don’t you?

I’m sitting here quietly at night, cuddled on the couch with a blanket draped over my legs and the computer perched on the arm of my couch typing to you.  As I look up over the screen of the computer I see my mantle shining with twinkly white lights festively decorated with the red left over from Christmas and in preparation for February’s holiday of Valentine’s Day!  Quiet soothing music in the background and I’m perfectly content.  Can you feel the magic?

It’s chilly outside, but not snowing.  It’s not the cold that happens when it’s terribly windy, but a peaceful winter’s night.  The perfect night to count our blessings and feel peace in our hearts.

We’ve made it through the first month of the new decade, although I’ll admit it felt like an extraordinarily long one.  Did you feel that way too?  It seems like many people felt that way, but maybe it’s just that January feels longer than most months since we’ve just come from the festiveness of December and it’s quieter than normal.

When we wake tomorrow it will February First and you know that means Rabbit Rabbit!  I haven’t seen my rabbits lately at all.  Mr. Groundhog made his appearance the other afternoon though and we have an outdoor kitty that I’ve seen hanging out in the yard.  I’m not sure if he belongs to any of the neighbors, but he looks strong and healthy.  We haven’t made friends yet, but perhaps one of these days.  So far, he will stand and look at me when he notices me but then scampers off into the woods.  I just hope he has a warm place to call home.

I hope that your January went smoothly as the transition to the new decade appears to have been a transition of sorts for many people.  A good transition, but a little rocky.  But then not all transitions go smoothly, but that doesn’t make them bad even when we fear change.

Have a lovely night wherever you are, whomever you’re with and whatever you’re doing.  I’m thinking of you all and wishing you serenity and an abundance of blessings.  My heart is full of gratitude.  My twinkly lights are shining and my heartlight is too!

Shine On!

World Kindness Day Inspiration

World Kindness Day

Kindness has a beautiful way of reaching down into a weary heart and making it shine like the rising sun.

~ Unknown

World Kindness Day, the purpose of which is to highlight good deeds in the community, focusing on positive power and the common thread of kindness that binds us was the other day.  I’m sorry I missed it as it was celebrated on November 13th.  In fact, it happens on that day every year and began back in 1998!

There are a multitude of quotes about kindness, but the one above has a special meaning for me for I have known kindness in my life that has unexpectedly lifted me up when I needed help.  I believe that’s the importance of kindness.  Do you feel the same way?

Kindness counts in so many ways and one never knows how even a smile can change another person’s attitude or even life!  So please, remember to be kind!  Shine your heartlights with the warmth of kindness!

Shine On!

Happy Sunday Soul Day!

Happy Sunday Soul Day

I awoke this morning, reminded that I am a soul having a human experience here on Earth.  While I have known this, it was important that I share it with you.  For sometimes, I think we forget who we are when we are mired in the human experience.

As humans we fret (worry) and we sink to those emotional levels of low vibrations.  We grieve.  We feel disappointment.  We get caught up in the story in our heads of what is going on here on Earth.  The human story becomes all encompassing and we forget temporarily who we are because the human experience is so overwhelming at times.  Every little nit-picking bump in the road of life becomes disastrous and bigger than it really is because we are seeing it from the human viewpoint and not from the soul.

I believe we are born as a soul to have a human experience and dare I say, the life lessons we endure here are meant to empower us as we break down the limiting human beliefs we accumulate over time and through various experiences from childhood through adulthood.  When we concentrate on the sometimes harrowing atrocities that we endure, our focus is not on the soul side, but the human.

The human experience allows us to learn life lessons such as forgiveness, trust and being an observer during the life’s harder times.  Our soul is here to witness, to nurture and to guide our human experience when we allow the innate flow of knowledge to calm us, to enlighten us and to lovingly support us.  Our faith and God allow us to observe the soul connection in all with whom we engage.  We can be with the soul in others even when their human reactions are difficult to bear.

We are all one here – a collection of souls here on Earth having a human experience.  Like busy atoms, we bump into each other, perhaps connect for awhile, only to be released.  We may bump on friendly terms or not so friendly terms.  We may merge with others for a time, only to realize that we are not on the same path anymore and thus, we disengage.  But the connections and disconnections are here for learning the life lessons and for training our human side to expand through experiences and wisdom.

Once we realize our soul connection with our human and the soul connections with other souls outside of our own, an inner peace emerges with faith, love and wisdom.  We realize and forgive because we understand that our human experience is prone to making mistakes in order to learn and we are willing to stand in peace without judgement on others.  We are given the insight in observance of the other soul’s human and we are given the ability to see beyond the fractured being through enlightenment.

I am not implying we are two people inside each person.  Our human side and our soul are connected.  Perhaps we forget when we are born as a human and one of our jobs here is to remember that we are a part of a bigger plan and an expansive source as souls.  Once one sparks that connection between the human and soul of ourselves, we cannot forget from whence we came.  Indeed, I have found that avenues of life learning lessons come into play like a growth spurt with the added caveat of the soul now connected and helping our human side to understand the bigger picture here.  That helps to answer the “why” we have chosen to have these human experiences!

I have always loved the book by Neale Donald Walsch called, The Little Soul In The Sun for it aptly makes sense to me in explaining why many of us endure life’s challenges.  Our soul longed to experience the human experience and to learn through it.

If you feel different than others when you are in the midst of a not-so-savory experience, connect with your soul and allow wisdom to enlighten you.  You are not alone as you walk through this lifetime.  Once we realize that we are not alone, that we are Divinely supported and loved, experiences do not take on the magnitude of pain nor error.  Instead, it is replaced with forgiveness, mercy, faith, love and connections.

I am not sure if I have explained myself well today or even after reading thus far, you understand my point.  Sometimes I feel as if I know what I want to say, but it gets lost in translation unless the reader and I are on the same wavelength.

Please let me know if you have a similar knowing inside.  I have had the knowing my whole life, but it was blocked for years due to the human experiences I endured.  In this precious moment, the connection is strengthening and for that reason, I wanted to share it with you.

On this lovely Sunday Soul Day, please know that I am thinking of you, wherever you are and sending my heartlight to shine to yours in connection.  May you feel the abundance of love and light in your heart.

Shine On!

You’re In My Prayers

You’re In My Prayers

Lately it seems there are a lot of people in my life who need prayers.  I find myself saying often, “You’re in my prayers” in hopes that they find comfort in those meaningful words.  Because they are in my prayers for whatever reason is necessary.

I find serenity in prayer.  I used to pray the rosary in my car often and still do from time to time.  But it’s only when I’m on a longer journey and not in the car for a short span of time.  I like to listen to positive music as well.  Sometimes I even turn on Joel Osteen’s channel because it’s uplifting to me.

I don’t pray with much formality these days.  Many times my prayers are more gratitude in nature or a request for help for those who are enduring hard times.  I pray for strength for myself and others especially when they’re sick or someone in their family is.  I’m always thankful as well.  I find that being thankful and appreciative of the blessings bestowed on me and my loved ones increases our tranquility and blessings.

Do you find comfort in prayer?  Do you need prayers?  If you do, please don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments.  I would be happy to add you to my growing list.  Perhaps that will help to give you some comfort.  I always feel uplifted after prayer.

Keep shining your heartlights my friends!

Shine On!

Rabbit Rabbit July 1st!

RabbitRabbitJuly1st

Welcome back to a timely Rabbit Rabbit starring my favorite little outside bunny Clover!  While she’s not white, she’s so sweet and not afraid of me, which of course, makes my heart sing with joy!  We can sit quite companionably outside in the sunshine without her fearing me.  I have seen her with another bigger bunny recently, but that one and I have not met yet.  We shall see.  Perhaps we will have baby bunnies here?  Wouldn’t that be luck for the month of July!  Imagine all those pattering rabbit feet hopping across my grass!  I can only imagine how delightful that would be!

I hope you all have a lovely month ahead filled with all that this wonderful life has to offer.  Stay present and kind.  Shine your heartlights.  Be grateful for what we have in this present moment and allow the presence of peace to be yours.

Shine On!

Another Belated Rabbit Rabbit

anotherbelatedrabbitrabbit

Well my friends, it’s another belated Rabbit Rabbit post.  I have been so busy lately that I haven’t had time to tend to my blog, nor to check in on my sweet blogging friends.  I hope that all of you are doing well!  One of these days I will be able to have some time to catch up, but in the meantime, please know that I still am saying Rabbit Rabbit every first of the month and I hope you are too!

What I’ve learned recently (and I’ve known for quite some time) is that change is inevitable and it pushes us out of our comfort zones in ways in which we would never have learned those life lessons.  Even when we are in the midst of an upheaval, life goes on.  Daily life continues with all of its responsibilities.  Onward marching as the days go by and we are just a blip in this big Universe.

To those who are close with us, we are not just a blip, but an integral part in the world that we’ve created.  A microcosm in our soul family unit.  Our place in that small portion of the Universe is important and for that, I’m grateful.

Situations challenge us to learn those soul lessons of forgiveness, empathy, compassion, kindness and loving acceptance even when the struggles to find them are real.  Holding onto the poison of the past helps no one, especially those of us who find that allowing and letting go are the keys to health, peace and love in our daily lives.  Counting our blessings and appreciating all that we have spiritually helps beyond measure in healing.  Expanding our hearts to hold the heartlights of those who have taught us these life lessons is key to moving forward in our soul journey towards the light.

Allow me to embrace you all as we continue to shine our heartlights!  I hope that what’s left of June continues with peace and love for you.  If you’re having some challenges, remember that change is inevitable and can many times be helpful even when we can’t see how or why at the present moment.

Shine On!

Happy Belated Bunny

happybelatedbunny

I’ve been remiss in writing lately.  It’s been busy here and I missed our Rabbit Rabbit for the month of April!  I’m so sorry!  Did you miss my friendly reminder?  Did you remember to say Rabbit Rabbit, White Rabbit White Rabbit?  Well, here’s your reminder for May!  Make sure you say it!

This is Clover, my resident bunny.  This was taken in April before the spring garden cleaning, hence the sticks and tall grass.  Since the photo, we’ve started getting the yard ready for Spring.  Have you started too?

Clover has grown and it’s so great to see her out and about now that Spring has sprung!  She’s not fearful at all of me which I find endearing and I’m careful not to scare her either.  However, her friend Mr. Grumpy Gopher (at least that’s what I think he is – or maybe he’s a groundhog?) doesn’t stick around to see if I’m going to talk sweetly with him.  As soon as he sees me, he scampers off as fast as his fat belly allows him!

Do you have a lot of wildlife in your yard?  I’ve been hearing the birds lately too, especially the cardinals.  All the fun of Spring growth is here and I can’t wait for the warm weather to not just tease us but actually arrive!

Here come the May flowers!  Keep shining your heartlights!  We need all the sunshine and warmth that our hearts can share!

Shine On!

Grateful For Birthday Love

birthday

MAY THE BEST

OF YOUR PAST BE THE

WORST OF YOUR

FUTURE

Today’s my birthday and, although the weekend has been busy, it’s been lovely.  I’m so grateful for the love that friends and family have been showing me, especially on my special day!

I’ve always been someone who adores her birthday because to me, each birthday is special!  It means I’ve made it through another year and I look forward with excitement and anticipation for what the coming year will bring.  I blow out the many candles with joy for the life I’ve been given and the life I have made, albeit with hard times, struggles and sadness, but coupled with love, light and gratitude!

I may not know where I’m going or what may come my way in the future, but I do know where I’ve been, what I’ve overcome and how strong I am.  My faith in a life filled with love cradles me as the year ahead opens to possibility.

I don’t shy away from owning the years I’ve spent on this earth for each one has led me to the next, with a plethora of life lessons along the way.  While some I could have sincerely done without, I am grateful for each of them for they changed me in ways that I have come to gratefully see as strengthening me.

I love deeply because of them, although as a Pisces, innately loving from my whole heart is how I’m built.  Often I have felt the pain from love, but I wouldn’t change me.

I am who I am without apology, but instead with gratitude.

I think that’s what growing older is all about in the end.  This aging process isn’t for sissies.  That’s for sure.  But there’s a momentous glee in looking back to see from whence we came and in looking forward to all the future blessings in store for us!  Being in this precious present moment with the kaleidoscope of love surrounding me, my heart is filled to overflowing.  I just feel so blessed!

So today, I’m sharing my virtual birthday cake with you dear blogging family!  You’ve been on this life journey with me for many years and I’m ever grateful for your loving support, kindness and encouragement along the way!

May all of our wishes be fulfilled!  Keep shining your heartlights!

Shine On!

Never Borrow Sorrow From Tomorrow

neverborrowsorrow

Deal only with the present,

Never step into tomorrow,

For God asks us just to trust Him

 And to never borrow sorrow-

For the future is not ours to know

 And it may never be,

So let us live and give our best

And give it lavishly-

 For to meet tomorrow’s troubles

 Before they are even ours

 Is to anticipate the Savior

And to doubt His all-wise powers-

So let us be content to solve

 Our problems one by one,

 Asking nothing of tomorrow

Except “Thy Will be done.”

  ~  Helen Steiner Rice

A good reminder for a quiet Sunday afternoon.  May your week ahead be lovely!

Keep shining your heartlights!

Shine On!
