Gratitude

gratitude

There is a calmness

to a life lived in gratitude

– a quiet joy.

~Ralph H. Blum

Gratitude for what is, what was and what may be.  This is how I live my life.  I am grateful for all the experiences, even those which have been sad, devastating and hard, as well as those experiences where I have searched and found the ‘good’ in what initially I viewed with suffering in my heart.  We have all heard, ‘time heals all wounds.’  But is that really true?  I am undecided, but yet, I feel that there is a choice in how we view the wounds as time goes by.  We can choose to have the wounds define us or empower us.  We are free to choose and it is in our choice, we continue to find peace and calmness in our lives.

So today on Thanksgiving, may we look upon the day with gratitude, love, calmness and joy.  View our world with peace in our hearts and allow healing love to surround us.

As always, I am grateful to be here with  you, to connect with you and to find the joy in the moment with you.  Let’s share gratitude for The Presents of Presence together!

A Psalm of Thanksgiving

77956715_Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.  – Psalm 100:1-5

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who are celebrating today ~ and to those who are not, I wish you gratitude, love, peace and health.  This is the psalm that my Mom repeated to us nightly until we were able to repeat it properly and I’ve never forgotten it!  As I like to say, it’s a keeper ~ just like you!

Happy Thanksgiving!

What we don’t say…

20131121-001631

Nothing haunts us like the things we don’t say

One of my favorite bloggers click here to visit MichelleMarie posted this the other day and it’s been haunting me ever since because it touched my heart.  Perhaps it’s because we are coming up on the 2nd Thanksgiving holiday since my Dad passed.  There are lots of things that were left unsaid between us.  At first when he passed, I was sad, then I was angry, then I told him a thing or two in my mind to his spirit wherever it may be.  And now I’ve found peace ~ and gratitude ~ just in time for Thanksgiving.

But I don’t want you to be haunted like I was ~ so I would love for you to take the above advice to heart.

This Thanksgiving, take a moment to be grateful for all of the people in your life for they are all here for a reason.  Take the time to reach out to tell them how much they mean to you.   Perhaps you could even write a gratitude list for yourself.  You could write a gratitude letter to them thanking them for all they have done for you.  Yesterday I told you about how grateful I was to receive those 2 cards in the mail from Julia ~ imagine your family’s delight at hearing how they make a difference in your life!

Shine On!
