Precious First Bumble Bee

It’s the end of April and spring has arrived, finally!  As I sat outside today, in the pale morning sun, two chubby bumble bees buzzed in the lawn nearby, seeming to enjoy the nectar in the grass.

While I wasn’t able to get a shot of both of them together, here is one of them.  What I loved was that as they went about their business, I was reminded of how inspirational they truly are.  At least I think so, because aerodynamically, there aren’t equipped to fly and yet, they do!  I love how they stop and smell the roses (quite literally and yes, silly pun intended) and yet, they also are very productive.

Quite literally, a perfect combination of work and play and isn’t that what life’s all about?

Of course, if you’ve been reading here for any length of time, you know how much I love the animals that I encounter.  I always feel as if they’ve stopped by to send me a special message.  I looked up bumble bee spirit animal message and smiled.

Here’s the lovely message that spoke to me!

Spring Has Sprung!

Heralding in Spring today on the Equinox, I look outside to a snow-cloud covered sky.  While I must admit, I was excited for Spring to have sprung today, I also am probably the last person in my neighborhood who can say yes to one last snow fall for the season.

Because for me, there’s something still very magical about snow falling, the crisp cold in the air and the smell, oh! the smell of snow coming!  You know that smell, don’t you?  That smell excites me to my very core because I love to watch snow fall and to be out amidst those big huge flakes as they waft down.  Oh, I’m so excited, like a little child!  My children laugh at me because I’m the one who insists we should wear our pjs inside out for a potential snow day off from school!  Have you followed that tradition too at your house?

I love the fact that towards the end of the week, after the snowfall, we will have warmer temperatures which means melting snow and not as much shoveling!  Woo Hoo!  But honestly, I don’t mind shoveling as long as there’s not a lot to do.  You know me though, I like Mother Nature’s gifts for the most part.

We’ve had our share of snowfalls this year thus far, so I am sure that there are plenty of people who don’t like my Pollyanna attitude towards the anticipated snowfall.  But as a gal who enjoys what a snowday offers – staying home in our pjs, being housebound while watching the outside world go by in a sea of white flakes, playing board games and watching tv, and eating comfort foods with my children – well, then can we just enjoy one last snowday – please!

Easter is a natural time of rebirth.  As Spring begins its season of growth, so do we!  Gratitude for blessings and delighting in the wondrous emergence of flowers and trees budding in the Spring flows joy to our hearts!  How lovely for the change of seasons!

May you enjoy a few moments of quiet today to fill your heart with love and gratitude.  Pray, meditate and just enjoy this moment in time.  Fill your day with love, reach out to family and friends in kindness and be gently reminded of the great gift that is today.

Daffodils for You!

I took this picture this morning of one of the daffodils on my kitchen table because it made me smile and I thought I’d share it with you today.  The daffs are not blooming in my yard yet as it’s too cold.  They are still just green shoots coming out of the cold hard earth.  But they are there, heralding the beginning of Spring, just waiting for the perfect moment to shine their yellow sunshine on all.

Spring to me is a rebirth ~ just like every dawn which comes my way.  It’s a newness from which the hope of a new day springs for me.  Daffodils remind me that the struggle of winter’s barrenness is over and with it comes the rebirth of creativity and  the newness of Spring which enter the soul.

I took my picture, uploaded it to my free SendOutCards account and made it into a greeting card within 5 minutes!  If you look closely you can see the green dotted outline of what is printed on the card ~ almost all of my images are that way because I make my own greeting cards and/or use the ones from the SOC (SendOutCards) catalog to make make my images for my blog.  Obviously the green dots aren’t on the greeting card, this is just how it shows what the image will look like so that I can make sure that my image is within the green dotted line which is what’s printed on the card!   I’d love to share my daffodil with you ~ if you send me your address, I’ll send you a card!  Wouldn’t you enjoy a surprise in your mailbox amidst the bills and junk mail?  I’d love to send you a smile today!

I saw this lovely blessing recently and thought I’d pass it along to you today.  Seeing that it’s the first Friday of May, I thought a little bit of blessings, love and rainbows might do the trick to end the work week on a high note.  No matter that it may have been a long week for you (because it certainly has been for me), the weekend is on its way and that’s always a good thing in my book!

Family time, a bit of relaxation and some time to recoup before Monday starts the week again.  It’s funny, on our calendars, we start the week with Sunday, but I have never felt that the week begins on Sunday.  Instead, I’ve always thought of Sunday as the day of rest, my favorite day of the week before the hustle and bustle begins again.  Perhaps it’s the Spanish life that beats inside of me or my Mother’s mantra that Sunday is a day of rest.  For whatever reason, Friday is the winding down day and Monday revs up the week for me.  Am I alone is this way of thinking?  What’s your first day of the week in your head?

Take a moment today to look around you ~ recently we’ve had a lot of rain and nature has blossomed everywhere it seems…a lush green has settled in my yard and the surrounding areas and it looks so beautiful.  I believe Spring has Sprung…

Spring!

Spring. Yesterday the twig was brown and bare;

The sunlight is dappled across my green lawn as I look outside this morning ~ and I see the tiny buds on the bushes, trees and flowers and I am in awe.  Spring has Sprung!  And it’s Passover and Easter…rebirth, renewal and family all rolled into one!

I love all of the seasons, but Spring has a special place in my heart.  I love the idea that a small seed can grow with love, sunshine and water into a beautiful flower, a sturdy tree and even a beautiful, powerful, loving, caring human who simply by ‘being’ makes this world a better place to live!

A seed can blossom into an idea which changes the world…one thought can SPRING into action which changes your life!   Look around today in awe at the beautiful Spring emerging in your world.  Check the skies, check the earth, check yourself…be excited…Spring is here my friends!

May you have a Spring in your step today!

Reach for the Stars…Follow your Dreams.

Reach for the Stars…Follow your Dreams.

With all of this goal talking lately, I thought this was a great card to use for the start of the week.  What a way to begin a Monday…reaching for the stars and following my dreams!  I hope that you can palpably feel the rush of enthusiasm for the week through my post…how exciting to begin the week with such exuberance!

Perhaps you are not feeling this way this morning…or perhaps you’ve caught my goal bug and are enjoying the endless possibilities and opportunities which come with life!

If you are not feeling the adrenaline rush of dreaming big, then let me help you…take a moment and just breathe.  Stop where you are (in a safe place please) and just breathe…think about how many times a day you breathe…and do you think about it?  Probably not…yet without your breathing, you would not be here…it’s a simple task that we take for granted.  We hardly give thought to it and yet it is one of the most important things we do each and everyday, many, many times a day.

Now look up to the sky and back down to our beautiful Earth…with this amazing weather, Spring has Sprung all over early!  Marvel at the green in the blades of grass and at the beautiful buds on the trees, bushes and flowers which are beginning to grow and open to the sunshine of Spring.

Sit back, get quiet and close your eyes for a moment, let your mind drift to nothing and concentrate on your breathing.  What images and thoughts come to your head?   Daydream for a moment…what’s your ideal life like?  Imagine it, feel it, smell it, let that feeling of utter happiness envelope your brain and your being…can you feel it?

When you open your eyes, take a moment to smile and to write down your experience…now you have a start of your dream and your path to the stars…

Everything is a possibility for you…all you have to do is to believe…and you can succeed!

No grumbling about Mondays…it’s the start of a spectacular week of possibility!

Change your attitude and all about you changes…

you vibrate to a different level…

and allow your dreams come true!
