Love Them Deeply

“I’m convinced when each of us faces the end of life,

our only regrets will be the moments we chose

to turn away from people

instead of loving them deeply.”

~Lori Lara

This quote from Lori Lara  touched me deeply when I read it.  Perhaps it’s because each of our parents (her Mom, my Dad) passed away three years ago and as bloggers we connected during that time.  Perhaps it is because her profound statement is from an experience and a healing that has taken us all at one time or another on a journey that we never expected to share.

It touches me to my core, reminding me of all the relationships, connections and disconnections in our lives and how they affect us.  We cannot change the past, we know not where the future beckons and so, it is in the here and now that we rest, we love and we experience the rainbow that life experiences has to offer.  To find the peace in the moment of now is the highest purpose in our lives.  To let go of past hurts, acknowledge regrets and find love in every connection and relationship.

For we all have an expiration date that hangs over us and most of us do not know what it is.  So we must continue to find the peace within ourselves and shine our heartlights out into the Universe.  It is our legacy that we control, the memory in others hearts’ of how we connected that remains in our memories.  To have had such an amazing experience with her Mom that she shares in her post, reminds me of myself with my Dad.  Thank you Lori Lara for sharing that day with us and for sharing all that you and your Mom were able to heal before she passed.

There are moments when we can choose love over hurt and many of us do just that, for ourselves and for others.  It’s not an easy choice and I’m not saying to be a doormat either.  But I have regrets in my own relationships when I forgot to choose the love instead of the hurt.  I’ve learned by my experiences and they have changed me.

I have been told that I am changed and it is true.  The chaos of hurt can still swirl about me and it can ping at my soul as well, but I choose to love, to find peace within me and to continue to strive to shine my heartlight in the best way that I know how in this moment of time.  Innately, I care about people, relationships and connecting, even when those with whom I choose to connect are having a tough time understanding my newfound peace.  It is hard to remain true to myself at times, to hear the criticizing of the enrichment that I have found in my life, but I go on.  For me, this change has been immeasurable and it is healing in itself and it is a gift for which I am forever grateful.

So shine your heartlight dearest friends, shine brightly the love that grows in your heart.  It is your legacy that is held so dearly.  Your loving heart in this moment in time is all we have for sure.  Use it wisely, use it willingly and watch it grow.  You are worthy.  You are capable.  You are YOU!

You are loved.

Keys to Harmony

keystoharmony

I am learning the keys to harmony.  Perhaps in the back of my mind, I have known the tune all along, but had resorted to humming, instead of learning the lyrics.  I think that may be what many of us do in life.  We either stay silent or we hit a wrong note in an attempt to be heard.  Or we hum the melody without using our words.

And sometimes this serves us.

And sometimes, it does not.

The keys are to know the difference.

Often attempts at harmony are not met with enthusiasm for various reasons.  We sing in different keys and therefore to be in harmony with others, we need to compromise and find the middle ground in order to communicate easily.  One wrong note and the harmony ceases.  It’s often difficult for each person to be themselves, to sing their own part and somehow find harmony with those around them.  It takes practice, patience, understanding and listening from a place of love in order to harmonize with others.  We cannot come to the piano bench expecting to play life’s keys perfectly without listening for those around us as they play their tune as well.

Listening to others’ tunes, hearing how they hit the notes, noticing which ones they miss and how they feel about harmony takes practice.  Being in an observer mode, hearing our own notes and seeing the whole orchestral piece of music helps the players get along and helps the musical piece rise to new heights.

To be in tune with ourselves is a gift, like The Presents of Presence.  To appreciate the music in others is a precious gift as well.  It takes courage to play our own tune.  It takes love to harmonize with others.  But when it all comes together, love shines through the blended piece!

Today, listen to your song.  Take a moment to listen to Nature.  As you pass through the lives of others today, whether it is a brief encounter or a lifelong relationship, hum your song and listen as others tune in with harmony!

See the Light In Others

light

See the light in others

and treat them as if that is all you see.

~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

I love this quote by Dr. Wayne Dyer and it goes with the theme of my past few posts.  When we see with our heartlights, our hearts are filled with warmth, love and peace.

May you see everyone’s heartlight shining today and everyday!

To Glow Is To Know

glow

to Glow…is to Know…

When we shine our heartlights, we glow….and when we glow, we know.  But what is it exactly that we know by glowing?

We show strength in shining our own special light into the world.  As we shine, we recognize others shining too.  In meeting other heartlights, many times we bond for we both know something that some have yet to learn.  We know that love, patience, kindness and presence increases our glow and allows others to see our heartlight shining as well.

We love, we forgive and we simply are who we are when we take the time to know ourselves and to shine our heartlights in the world around us.  In the movie Avatar, the phrase, “I see you,” is an acknowledgement of opening the mind and heart to the present moment and to spiritually be in that moment with the other person.  It is the ultimate compliment to understand another person, to truly love them for all of themselves and not the just bits and pieces we prefer.

Imagine for a moment our world full of presents of presence and heartlights twinkling like stars in the night sky.  Imagine the peaceful planet we’d inhabit if we were all to shine freely and not hide our heartlights or dim another’s.  I daresay it would be this side of Heaven.

Namaste is another way to acknowledge the divine spark we each hold.  It is amazing when someone says ‘Namaste’ and we know we have been greeted soul to soul.

So this week, perhaps as you go about your days, you could take a moment to connect with the other heartlights that you meet along the way.  Even if it is a fleeting moment, you could smile with a twinkle in your eye and know that your heartlights have connected.  Try it and let us know how it goes for you!  I am going to do it as well!

Tidbit from Marilyn

monroe

I believe that everything happens for a reason.

People change so that you can learn to let go,

things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right,

you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself,

and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

See With Your Heartlight

It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;

what is essential is invisible to the eye.

Never Give Up!

Remember when you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn. ~ Harriet Beecher Stowe
