When Life Hands You Lemons

I’m sure many of us can attest that we’ve been pelted by lemons at some point in our lives. Thrown the proverbial curveball that changes everything, some people refer to it as life handing you lemons. As you know, the rest of that saying is:

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

Unknown

But what does that mean exactly? Make the best of your situation? Drink lemonade? Accept the disappointment, curveball, illness, and do something positive with it? Well, as someone who has made her share of lemonade, I’d like to change it up because I’m not really a fan of lemonade myself. Are you?

But I’m not sure how to do that. So I thought I’d check in with my sweet, longtime blogging friends and ask the question to you. I know many of your stories for having been reading your blogs for many years, I know none of us have escaped the lemons in life which have made us stronger. So how would you change up that quote?

When life hands you lemons…

Feel free to enjoy and share whatever comes to mind…I always enjoy a good laugh by the way!

All You Need Is Love

There’s a popular song by the Beatles called, “All You Need Is Love” which you may remember. When I awoke this morning, I heard that song in my head and chose to share it today since Valentine’s Day is nearly upon us.

Life sure feels strange lately with all the upheaval. There’s so much fear and uncertainty. Politically people are at odds and then there’s the Covid-19 virus which has many worried as well. I try not to watch the news since much of it has negativity to it. I like to stay informed, but I also don’t want to get caught up in the whirlwind.

As light workers shining our heartlights, we continually need to feed ourselves positivity. Not in a Pollyanna sort of way, but in choosing to stay centered, and with kindness, love and caring for all people. Love holds the key to unlocking so many of our troubles these days. Perhaps that’s why the song resonated with me this morning.

Love is all you need is a great reminder to what’s important in this world. Giving and receiving love heals us all. Love makes the world go round, don’t you think?

On A Quiet Sunday Morning

The presents of presence

It’s sunny today which automatically puts a smile on my face these days.  Although with the news being as it is, the sunny positivity amidst the unrest lately makes staying home even easier for me during the quarantine.  While I’m not one to ostrich myself and put my head in the sand instead of being aware of what’s going on, I find the negative forces overwhelming.  Are you feeling similarly?

I find that shining our heartlights is even more important these days.  Connecting with people who raise our loving vibrations is necessary to stay afloat during these uncertain times.  Reaching out helps each of us to continue to grow compassion, understanding and the light which is so needed in our world these days.

I am saddened by the news more often than not, since it seems that we are being divided in so many ways, instead of coming together as a world full of love.  Stress, fear and negativity spike often and it leaves me feeling drained more often than not, which is why I haven’t been posting as often.

I am grateful for the peace within me that radiates as the warm breeze flows outside my home.  Nature has been calling and Gaia’s love has helped to center me when trouble comes.  I’ve had many encounters lately with all different animals who share this parcel of land with me.  The three groundhogs, Clover the bunny, the hawks and birds, the heron who flies by occasionally and the chipmunks who race across the outdoor patio have brought much joy to my days with their antics.  Unfortunately, my camera is not as quick as they are, otherwise I’d share my experiences with you.  Then there are the deer and the nighttime bats who appear at dusk.  Do you ever take the time to notice all the creatures around you?

I hope my post finds you all healthy and happy and safe from the virus that is plaguing our planet.  I pray for health and peace for all of us.  I keep you all in my prayers.  Keep shining your heartlights as we need each other!

Shine On!

Imagination Enhances the Creativity of the Soul

imaginationisthecreativityofthesoul

The thought that imagination is the creativity of the soul came to me.  When was the last time you used your imagination?  As children we imagine all sorts of things when we freely play.  I remember playing house, making mudpies and pretending I was a wife and mother.  I remember imagining I was a princess.  I remember imagining I was free to fly like a bird!

What do you remember about your childhood and using your imagination?

Better yet, when was the last time you used your imagination?  As adults I believe we put away our imaginations in order to be ‘grown up’ and deal with ‘reality’ because that’s what we are told that grown ups do.  However, imagination is a wonderful tool to improve our grown up lives as well and it’s one I think we don’t use enough.

Imagination allows the soul to flourish, to blossom and to achieve what our limited minds cannot.  Goals and dreams can become reality when we use our imaginations, but often, we find imagination a childish whim and discard the powerful tool we have been given.

Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote a book called, You’ll See it When You Believe It:  The Way to Your Personal Transformation.  In this book, he shows how to improve one’s quality of life by tapping into the power within in order to direct the course of one’s destiny.  In other words, using your mind/imagination to make things happen!

Give yourself permission to use your imagination in your everyday life.  Imagine the plethora of possibilities with positivity!  Imagine what your life would feel like to be happy, healthy, and limitless!  Just do this a little everyday and let us know how life changes for you!  I imagine life will improve for you!

When You’re Feeling Like the Only One

whenyou'refeelingliketheonlyone

There are times in life when you just feel like you’re the only one who is enduring (insert whatever it is that you are experiencing).  You may feel as if nobody understands your situation.  You may even feel alone, untethered and grieving.  It happens to all of us.  It is a normal part of the ebb and flow in life.

But to reach beyond and out of the moment is where your lessons in life school challenge you to search within and to look up and all around you to connect with yourself, God, the Divine Universe and with others of like-mindedness.  To find the positivity in any situation, to allow yourself to be present with the pain/hurt/disappointment and to find a sense of peace even while chaos swirls in one of life’s lessons is the key.  It is in human eagerness the need to smooth the rough edges, to bypass the grief at all costs, to hide away the disconnect from ourselves and others and to make everything okay as soon as possible.  Sure, wallowing in sadness cannot be limitless, but to experience what we are feeling, as we are feeling it and to connect with whatever we are feeling is beneficial.  The choice to move beyond that to a place of peace no matter the circumstances is the lesson here.  And as you know, for we have all had our trials and tribulations, it is not an easy task at times.

But it is possible…and it is your choice for you have free will.

Cloistered in self-pity, does not serve you, nor the world.  It isolates people, disconnects them from reality and from those who want to help.  But it takes courage to connect with others and to connect with our own hearts.  It takes trust in the soul’s knowing that we can open up and be with whatever is happening.  That’s the tough part which many of us find distasteful as we lack the trust within ourselves and therefore, lack trust in the Universal Truths of Life.

I have been there dear friends.  I understand how you feel no matter if our circumstances are not the same.  The bare fact is that the similar feelings join us in ways unbeknownst to most of us.  Universal Healing happens when we connect through hearts and souls on this life path.  The simple act of connecting with another soul, hearing and feeling that someone else understands, makes all the difference in the world.

So today, no matter what you are enduring, please know that I have my hand here for you hold.   My heart is here to connect with yours and my understanding is available to help you to continue on this life path of healing.  I have learned that in reaching out, we also benefit in our own healing and through connecting, we raise our vibrations, enthusiastically joining and reverberating peace throughout the world.

Shine your heartlights.  Join together in peaceful presence.  I see you shining!

Shine On!

Appreciation

appreciate1

“Appreciation can make a day — even change a life.  Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary.”

~ Margaret Cousins

It’s important to be kind and to be polite.  It fosters good will and sends out powerful loving vibes to the world when you take a moment to show, to speak and to acknowledge your gratitude.  Such simplicity is often forgotten, crumpled and left by the wayside in life.

So today as you go about your routine, take a moment to smile, to be polite, to hold a door, to reach out with a kind word.  It makes a difference.  It allows your heartlight to shine even brighter and lift the world in harmony.

Shine On!

Harmony Begins With You!

harmonybeginswithyouHarmony Begins With You!

Have you ever felt out of sorts?  It feels like nothing seems to be going right in your life?  All of your endeavors appear fruitless?  Your relationships are skewed, finances in disarray?  Health problems plague you?  Even the weather and your plans aren’t cooperating?  Well, there may be an easy explanation for the confusion you are enduring.

Harmony begins with you.

It’s a simple solution, but some may balk at the notion that the chaos you are experiencing is manifested by the inharmonious thoughts in your own mind.  Perhaps, I can show you what I mean.

Let’s experiment.  Today, let’s look carefully at our thoughts, actions and words.  Try for 15 minutes to notice what you are thinking, writing, believing, saying and doing.  What negativity do you observe?  You may find your mind is bombarding you with worry, fear, regret, anger and resentment.  These feelings manifest themselves in your daily life, wreaking havoc in every plan and experience.  It’s a vicious cycle that only you can change.  And the best news is, You Can!

Back in 2012, I wrote about a favorite book that I reread when I need a gentle reminder to clear myself and realign my thinking.  Here is the post.  At the time, I even did a series of posts on Florence Scovel Shinn’s books, taking tidbits which I felt highlighted the essence of what she was writing and sharing what I felt pertained to most of us at that time in my life.

Recently I picked up the book again to re-ignite the harmony which I felt was missing.  Many of her affirmations jumped out at me, but one in particular resonates and I think it might be helpful to you.

I am poised, harmonious and magnetic.

So my prescription to you, should find yourself in the above situations is this:

Rx ~ Read, write, speak aloud the affirmation above today 10x.

Be grateful for your poise, harmony and magnetism.

Simply take a moment out of your day at small intervals and repeat the Rx.

Do this for a few days and see how your mind/life responds.

Be aware when you are thinking negatively.  Stay conscious as you go about your day.  Think twice before spewing anger and instead, simply repeat the affirmation.  It may feel funny at first, but feel free to try.  You may just notice that harmony begins to enrich your life; pathways open, you feel better, opportunities arise and you are enveloped in a peaceful embrace by the Universe.

Let me know what you think!  Have you ever heard of Florence Scovel Shinn?

Share below when you feel a shift in your thinking.

Lead With Your Heart

Lead With Your Heart

When we lead with our hearts, we change the way we look at our own lives and at the lives of others.  We can lovingly observe the world around us with compassion, thus raising our energetic vibration and increasing our positivity.  Just this small change in how we see ourselves and those around us, makes a difference in the world.

By leading with our hearts, we inspire others to do the same.  When we band together with caring connections, we expand Universal Love which heals and embraces everyone.  We travel, arm in arm, along the yellow brick road.

We see each other’s strengths and applaud them.  We may see our weaknesses as well and together we strengthen them.  We teach, we learn, we enrich and we share.  We release what doesn’t serve us and expand what does.  With help, we drop negativity and infuse more optimism and positivity into our lives.  We find The Presents of Presence in simple steps to freedom.  We allow instead of controlling.  We bless our current situations and embrace the gratitude for all experiences that we endure.  We find the good in every situation, allowing the bad vibrations to drop away ~ we learn the lessons needed to move onward and upwards, all the while connecting with others.  We use our power for good.

We choose to lead with our hearts.  It’s a choice, dear friends.  One that we choose, moment to moment, day to day, year to year over a lifetime.  The beauty of choice is that we always have the freedom to choose again at any time.  How blessed we are to live this life!

Shine On!

Always Look for Positivity

smoothsailing

Always look for positivity.

Though times may look harder, there may not be smooth sailing,

but never lose heart, let the challenge make you stronger and stronger.

~ Dr Anil Kumar Sinha

Innately I am a ‘the glass half full’ gal most of the time.  Even when down, I feel like a bobber in the water, I may sink, but I also find a way to rise to the surface.  I was talking with someone yesterday about how our challenges make us stronger.  To find the shimmer of positivity in every encounter, in every challenge, and in every moment when you just feel overwhelmed.

It’s not easy to do sometimes.  But it is always able to be done.

That was my message to this special person in my life.  It’s a choice to be sad, hurt, upset and angry or you can choose to find that this challenge allows you to find peace knowing that holding on to what should be is a way of keeping you down and not lifting you up.  It’s hard to ride the winds of change.  It’s not usually easy to navigate, but it can be done and sometimes you just need to ask for help and trust in God.

So that’s what we planned to do together, to weather the storm of change.

How do you deal with change?  Do you put blinders on, shut your eyes and shut down your heart?  Or do you look inside your heart to rearrange the pieces of change in order to organize them and find that perhaps they are helpful overall?

Many are going through challenges now and I understand.  There’s a light at the end of the tunnel for you.  Believe in the strength of positivity and one day you will wake up to see your heart light beaming again in full splendor, stronger than ever before and you will be grateful that you weathered the winds of change in your life for they have challenged you, strengthened you and enriched your life in ways you never thought possible.

It’s All in Your Mind

mind1

“It is our mind,

and that alone,

imprisons us or sets us free.”

Dilgo Khyentse Rimpoche

Our minds are precious machines which like computers often only repeat what is put into them.  Whatever story you’ve evolved in your mind, often plays out in your life.  What you concentrate on, appears many times and you may wonder why.  Are you attracting negativity into your life by drawing it with the words, thoughts and actions you choose?  Do you harbor resentments, refuse forgiveness or hold the victim story in your head so powerfully that you continue in a cycle of sadness and ugliness in your life?

Do you long to break free from the prison, the sadness and the negativity?

You can.

That’s the best thing about your mind.  You can change the channel by focusing on the power of positivity!  You can allow your mind to imprison you with the story you have in your head about your life, your past, your list of depressing experiences or you can change the way you look at your life and find the positivity.

So let’s begin today ~ take my hand and let’s change that channel to the one you want to live!
