What Will You Leave Us This Time?

Click Here for Oh Very Young (with lyrics)

Above is a YouTube video with the lyrics to the song by Cat Stevens, Oh Very Young, which is a beautiful reminder for so many of us.  Have you ever thought of what you leave behind when you say goodbye to this life?  How will you be remembered?  Will you take the love and connections with you that you’ve made on this planet?  Will your memory remain with those who stay?  What will those who stay remember about you?
I pray that your memory of me will be of love, kindness, compassion, connections, caring and grace.  I wish the same for you with your loved ones and for all with whom you connect.  You are such a special person, here for a Divine Purpose to love, to hold and to make a difference in a beautiful way.  I was reminded of this today, so I will, in turn, remind you. ♥

11:11

1111

Today, I witnessed 11:11am as I often do.  It’s silly really, but it also reminds me that I am loved, for when  I see the above numbers, I take them as a sign from above that there is someone(s) watching over me during these trying times in my life.  Today is 7/11 which are spiritual numbers as well (if you prescribe to that type of thinking) and I eagerly envelope my heart/mind/soul with faith and love today.

Our world crumbles more and more lately, so much that it pains me to watch the news.  So today, I request that we take a moment to send out loving positive energy to all in order to bring more peace to our world.  Imagine if we could all blanket our world with the soft comfy clouds as in the photo above, shining our peaceful heartlights with forgiveness, healing, kindness, compassion and love.

What a wonderful world this would be, don’t you think?

How Do YOU Make This World A Better Place?

howdoyoumakethisworldabetterplace
Lately, I hear people complain about the state of the world and all the horrors that occur daily.  It saddens me to think that sometimes it feels as if we are living in a cesspool of inhumanity for there is a lot of news which at times defies kindness, love and connections between humans, between humans and animals, and even between humans and our planet Earth.
So what are YOU doing about it?  How do you improve your small corner of this world?  How do you shine your heartlight to help to heal our world?
I would love to hear from you.  Perhaps if we all kept up our efforts to spread love and kindness everywhere we go, our planet life would improve.  I can only hope as I shine my heartlight here.
Shine On!

Lucky You

luckyyou

Do you believe in luck?

Full Definition of luck by Merriam-Webster is:

  1. 1 a :  a force that brings good fortune or adversity

  2. b :  the events or circumstances that operate for or against an individual

Curiously, I believe in luck and yet, I don’t, which is a conundrum on St. Patrick’s Day even though I have a smidgen of Irish in me.  I believe in fate.  I believe in free will.  I believe in karma.  I believe in the ability to change our ways of thinking in order to change our lives.  I believe in angelic help.

And I believe in you…and I believe in me.

What do you believe?  Have you ever sat for a moment to ponder your beliefs, to write them out and then peruse them?  Do they still stand stoically rooted in your childhood beliefs as they were downloaded to you from your past or have they changed over time, expanding the limits to an expanse of limitlessness?

Beliefs from childhood can be limiting or limitless depending on our circumstances and what is downloaded to us from our parental figures and from those whom we looked up to as children.  As we grow, we learn and expand our thinking or we can stay stuck in those beliefs that were given to us from the start.  It’s a choice to see ourselves as limited or limitless.  It’s a work in progress as we develop our mindset to raise our personal vibration in the world at large.

Perhaps it’s that old adage of seeing the glass 1/2 empty or 1/2 full or with gratitude for even having a glass.  Today in honor of feeling lucky, I’d love to hear from you.  Are you lucky?  Do you believe in luck?  What do you believe?

Lucky you, you can choose your thinking!

We Are All Souls in Human Form

WeAreAllSoulsinHumanForm

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience;

we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

– Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

We nourish our physical bodies with exercise, nutrition and fashionable clothing.  Amidst the social etiquette of the day, we slather on moisturizers to appear ageless, we cover up what we deem physical flaws and many of us intend to show our best physical selves to the world at large.

We nourish our minds by learning and by exploring knowledge that many of us voraciously seek in order to keep our brains functioning at higher levels.  We read self-help books, we watch motivational videos, we subscribe to uplifting blogs, we communicate with others who are searching for ‘enlightenment’ and we expand our thinking.

But what do we do about our souls, the oft forgotten center of our beings?

Do we attend the church of our choice?  Do we pray?  Do we believe in God, a higher power and Divine Power?  Are we religious?  Or spiritual?  Or both?  Do we carry faith within?  Do we connect with others through our heartlights?  Do we lean outside the conventional box of spiritual thinking?  Do we nourish the soul’s desire for love and forgiveness?  Or do we step aside, turn a blind eye/heart/mind to the Divinity that resides in each of us?

Nourishing our souls is mandatory, but it seems that many do not take the necessary time to explore and to listen to the quiet voice of the soul which is the heart of our experience here on Earth.  We blindly follow the herd of humanity at times, caught up in the woulda, coulda, shoulda’s of life school, not daring to take the time to be present and to feel the presence and connection with our collective souls.

It’s sad for me to watch so many people rushing after the future or repeating the past and forgetting about the present moment which gathers so much love in its presence.  The if only’s haunt our lives, tearing people apart and deepening the ruts of ‘when blank happens, I’ll be happy’, thus forgoing that precious presence of blessing that is in the here and now, for an intangible desire that when we look with loving eyes at the present moment, was here all along and truly was enough.

The soul innately knows that we are enough (perfect, whole and complete) in this present moment, but our Earthly fears drown out the quiet voice which whispers the soul’s desire and message.  Take a few minutes a day to be aware of your soul.  Breathe in the precious present moment, taking in all the love that abounds and exhaling all of the negativity that sometimes feels like it’s beating down your front door.  Nourish your own soul with loving acceptance and send forth love and forgiveness from your own heartlight to shine and to connect with others.  You will notice a difference when you you do this.  Trust me.  Healing is here for you.  Love and light surround you and are within you always.

Be who you are meant to be in this life.  You are worthy.

What Does It Mean To Hear An Owl Screaming Outside Your Window At Night?

What Does It Mean To Hear An Owl

Screaming Outside Your Window At Night?

Picture this:  3am and I am awakened from a sound sleep by a strange sound.  In fact, it sounded like a strange type of screaming and I immediately sat up straight in bed with a start!  My heart was pounding.  I looked around my bedroom and saw that neither of our cats were making the noise which woke me.

SCREAMMMMM!  I heard it again!  This time I distinctly heard it come from outside my bedroom window.  Whew!  It wasn’t coming from inside our home which meant all were safe and sound.  Again, the warbling cry was heard and I peeked out the window, but I could only see darkness.

What could be making that racket?

Somehow, it came to me, that it was an owl.  I don’t know why I knew it, but I just knew it was an owl.  Not the typical hoot of an owl for sure, but an almost wounded cry that came practically rhythmically for half an hour.  And then, as suddenly as it began, all was quiet.

The cats were on high alert while we listened to the owl.  Intently watching the windows, but with their ears perked to every squawk and screech the owl made.

I must tell you that all sorts of superstitions ran through my head while I listened intently to the owl.  The next day, I checked google to find an audio/video on YouTube of an owl making the same noise and only one audio was similar, but none were exact.

Anyway, does anyone know what it means to hear an owl screaming like that?  Part of me thought it might be a warning of a death, but so far, everyone is still here, healthy and happy for which I’m grateful.  Any and all help is appreciated, so please feel free to comment below.

Let me know if you’ve ever heard an owl screaming.  Why do they do that?  What does it mean?

Thank you for your help!  Keep your heartlights shining!  I can see you from here!

What We Can Learn From Winter (and I’m not writing about the season)!

winter

Have you ever seen the 2011 movie Dolphin Tale?  Or its sequel Dolphin Tale 2 which came out in 2014?  The movies chronicle the life of a dolphin named Winter who was maimed by being caught in a crab trap and thusly, lost her tail.  I have seen the movies before, but I find that I always enjoy them as their universally inspirational message rings clearly to me.

We are here to work through our trials and tribulations and we are also here to inspire others.

We can be hurt, heartbroken, maimed and feel as if we can’t survive, but with help from those around us, even perhaps strangers, we can find the will to go on.  As we heal, we can choose to live our lives as an example of what the human or ‘ahem’ dolphin spirit can achieve with love.

I recently visited Winter’s site click here!  I learned that beginning Monday February 1st, a real-life follow up show series called Rescue-Clearwater will premiere online documenting the work at Clearwater Marine Aquarium.  Each episode will be released at the beginning of the month and be 30 minutes in length.  What a great way to catch up with Winter’s progress!

I highly recommend clicking on their website.  There’s even a real-time webcam to watch Winter and Hope and all the rest of the animals.  What fun to watch Winter as she swims and how inspiring to see her!  Don’t you just love a great feel good story?  I know I do!  Open your heartlight and let it shine!

Have you ever been to Clearwater to see Winter?  Please share below!

Do You Believe in Karma?

karma

I awoke this morning with the song, Karma Chameleon by Boy George in my head this morning.  I admit I found it interesting since I haven’t heard that song nor thought of it in years.  But it brought up the question of Karma to me in a most peculiar way, so I am reaching out to you, dear friends, to see what you have to say about Karma.

As I understand it, having read a bit this morning,

Karma describes how our actions evolve into experience.

Each action is then a seed,

which grows into our experience of the world,

and either starts a new growth process,

or perhaps reinforces an old one.

Which to me, is interpreted as every moment needs to be mindful!  How about you?  Does the above resonate with your definition and understanding of Karma?  Please share as I am most interested in learning from you!

I also read on Buddhanet:

Perplexed by the seemingly inexplicable, apparent disparity that existed among humanity, a young truth-seeker approached the Buddha and questioned him regarding this intricate problem of inequality:

“What is the cause, what is the reason, O Lord,” questioned he, “that we find amongst mankind the short-lived and long-lived, the healthy and the diseased, the ugly and beautiful, those lacking influence and the powerful, the poor and the rich, the low-born and the high-born, and the ignorant and the wise?”

The Buddha’s reply was:

“All living beings have actions (Karma) as their own, their inheritance, their congenital cause, their kinsman, their refuge. It is Karma that differentiates beings into low and high states.”

He then explained the cause of such differences in accordance with the law of cause and effect.

I have heard people allude to others’ actions which they found distasteful, with the phrase, ‘karma will get them’ and I never knew what to say to that sentence.  I have heard the word over the years, but I have never truly understood the definition.

Please help me today ~ share what you know, what you believe, define it if you will.  If you have written about Karma, please share a link below in the comments.  I truly want to hear from you!

And in case you now have the song in your head…Enjoy!
