What’s Your Piece Of Good News?

“Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!” — Anne Frank

“Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news.

The good news is that

you don’t know how great

you can be!

How much you can love!

What you can accomplish!

And what your potential is!”

~Anne Frank

I saw this quote today and felt like I had to share it with you!  How incredibly inspiring Anne Frank was even under her dire circumstances!  I recall reading her diary when I was in school and it reminded me of how strong we can be when we have no other choice!

So since it’s Monday and the start of a new week (and the start of school for some students), I thought I’d send a little bit of inspiration to you!

Happy Monday My Friends!

What Are You Doing With Your Free Will?

whatareyoudoingwithyourfreewill

We have plenty of choices in this lifetime.  We all have the free will to choose and to change our minds and to choose again.  Perhaps on this Monday morning because I’m feeling so centered, I can seem very black and white on this issue.  But when I’m feeling centered, it’s so clear to me.  Is it clear to you?

We make excuses when our choices don’t pan out and deliver to fruition what we want.  So we blame others for what we think they made us do.  Believe me, I’ve been there too.  But the reality is that we all have free will to choose again, to change our thinking and to let go of what we believed was supposed to be, what was fair in our own heads and what we deserved.

But that’s not the way life lessons come to us all the time.  Sometimes, we have to get out of our own thinking, out of our own way and see the big picture in whatever scenario is taking place in the forefront.  And then, deal with it.

We’ve all made choices that perhaps we regret.  We make decisions in an instant that hurt us or hurt others.  But to own our own stuff takes courage to be responsible for what is and not what we believed should be.  That’s the lesson that is hardest I think for all of us to wrap our minds, our beliefs and our hearts around.

But in order to heal, it’s necessary.  To work on ourselves takes time and baby steps towards healing.  If we don’t do the work on ourselves though, we are stuck in that place of pain and nobody wants to stay there.  But oftentimes, we do for lack of knowing how to release our limiting beliefs.

Use your free will to choose again.  Choose wisely by being the observer in your life.  Treat yourself as you would your best friend and be open to possibilities that maybe you haven’t been aware of before in your life.  Wherever a door closes, there’s a window which opens.  Be courageous to look outside that window to see the big picture.

Allow God and the Universe to guide you to freedom of choice and to choosing what serves you with joy and love.  Your heartlight shines when we allow ourselves to be whom we are meant to be.  To be anyone else doesn’t serve our souls, nor our life purpose.

Don’t regret the path not taken.  Take it.  Embrace it and if it doesn’t fit, then choose again.  This is your life and nobody else’s.  Live.  Choose.  Forgive.  Let go.  Move onward and upwards!  It’s a beautiful day!  You can always choose to be happy.

That’s your free will choice.  Choose happiness.

Sludge Through Monday Morning?

sludge

I like Mondays as it’s the start of the new week and there’s much optimism in a new week’s adventures.  I know typically people feel like they are sludging through Monday mornings, but not me.  Maybe it’s just my personality, but to me, it’s a new beginning, like the start of school in September!

But this week can be particularly stressful since Thanksgiving is on Thursday.  All of the last minute preparations for the big feast can wear on those who are hosting the event for family.  Let’s face it, that all-encompassing dinner is a lot to prepare, even for the most seasoned cooks.  Sometimes the stress of being with family is hard too.  Lucky for me, I’m not hostessing this year, so I’m a bit more relaxed.  For those of you who are, well, I’m sending you lots of strength, patience and a delicious meal and well-behaved guests!

This week kicks off the holiday season with Thanksgiving, then Black Friday shopping and the Christmas season coming up.  I find it to be invigorating myself, but maybe I’m an anomaly.   How are you feeling?

I hope you have a lovely week and that today brings a skip in your step and not the dragging of feet.  Keep shining your heartlights and I’ll send you mine!

Shine On!

Here Comes the Sun

herecomesthesun

It’s the week before school begins in the Northeast and summer is winding down.  I can’t believe how quickly the summer has flown by here.  Doesn’t it seem as if time goes by more quickly every year?

I remember that my parents and elder relatives used to say that and I never knew what it really meant.  Gone are the long lazy dog days of childhood summers.  I remember them well.  Don’t you?

My childhood days were spent on the beach, playing in the ocean waves, picking up sea glass on the sand, and swimming in the pool!  Surrounded by friends, eating PB&J sandwiches sometimes crusted with bits of beach sand.  We didn’t care!  Then going home for dinner, after a long day at the beach, smelling like suntan lotion, chlorine from the pool with bits of salt from the ocean dried on our skin!  A bath and then happily to bed, excited to do it all over again the next day!

Innately for me, every dawn brings promise.  As a child, I wasn’t an early riser and I loved to sleep in, especially on the weekends when I could.  But as an adult, I adore mornings with a cup of coffee and a fresh slate on which to write my day!  I look forward to whatever miracles are coming my way today!

Granted, not always is every day strewn with sparkly goodness.  I know that for sure.  But even when darkness seems to fall on a day, there are still some bright sun spots when we look at the glass as 1/2 full – or with gratitude for even the glass that can be filled!

Greet the morning with a hopeful smile.  No matter what’s on your work agenda, no matter what troubles are plaguing you.  Be grateful you are here today to feel the sunshine on your face as you go about your day.  Send out the intentions for goodness to come to you, through you, for you and in turn, you send out goodness to all with whom you interact today.

Smile.  You are here.  You matter.  You make a difference!

You are loved!

Shine On!

What You Do Comes From What You Think

whatyoudocomesfromwhatyouthink

You may believe that you are responsible for what you do,

but not for what you think.

The truth is that you are responsible for what you think,

because it is only at this level

that you can exercise choice.

What you do comes from what you think.

– Marianne Williamson

Wise advice on a Monday morning!  I hope you have a fantastic week!  Make good choices and think before you choose!

Awaken and Renew

awakenandrenew

It’s been raining here for awhile now.  The days grow dreary when rain settles into our lives.  But the sunshine awoke today, gloriously in the blue sky and the trees are sprouting from the rains.  As rain falls, it nourishes and sunshine renews and awakens love everywhere.

May you find rebirth, renewal and beautiful awakenings today in the small miraculous gifts that we witness when we simply look up to the sky and are grateful for what is.

Happy Monday!

May you shine your heartlight this week!

Hemingway’s Every Man

hemingway“Every man’s life ends the same way.

It is only the details of how he lived and how he died

that distinguish one man from another.”

– Ernest Hemingway

I found this quote and am so inspired by it for 2016!  For we all have an expiration date which most of us do not know until it comes, unless we decide to pass.  So, instead of making goals for 2016 or choosing a word for your year ahead ~ perhaps we could all think about the details of how we live this year, how we distinguish our own lives from the masses of droplets in the ocean and how we can better connect on a higher vibration with the rest of our world in a peaceful manner.

Just a little thought for a Monday in a new year…

Shine your heartlights!  I see you!

Rainy Days and Mondays…

rainydays

Rainy Days and Mondays…

My heartfelt gratitude to all of you who stopped by my blog to send hugs yesterday.  I truly appreciated all of the kindness and love that you showered over me.  Like the rain which has been falling, your loving gestures wrapped me in a blanket of love and gratitude for our connections.  Near and far, you helped me immensely by caring ~ and isn’t that what life is all about?  Sharing, caring and loving connections?

I think sometimes we feel alone and get into our heads that we have to forge ahead, doing it ourselves.  When we get overwhelmed with life’s experiences, we huddle in our aloneness and the story that we have to shoulder it all by ourselves.  Perhaps we view asking for help as weakness, when in fact, I believe, it shows strength.  There is strength in vulnerability.  There is strength in kindness.  There is strength in knowing that you need a hug (virtual or otherwise) now and again.

Sometimes people misunderstand a loving heart and see it as a weakness.  They view caring as being vulnerable and not being strong.  But in fact, I believe, that in being a loving heart and caring, connecting and reaching out to others with our whole selves is a strength for it is not always easy to be the one who prefers peace, love and understanding in their life.

Some find it’s easier to rant, rave and bulldoze to get your own way instead of taking the time to be with life situations with a loving heart.  Loving hearts may get broken easier, but the payoff is priceless and precious to know you love from your heart.  Superficial love is easier to manage because you can walk away.  Real love is doing the work to stay connected even when it’s hard.  I’m not saying that there aren’t times which warrant walking away because I believe there are.  Nor do I blame those that do, for it is every individual’s right to choose their life path.  Sometimes we need to walk away to clear our heads and see from the observer’s point of view and then we can make the right decision for ourselves.

Bottom line, I am thankful for all of the hugs sent my way and as promised, I send double the loving hugs back to you and out into the world.  I hope you understand that I just needed a hug, a connection, a bit of kindness and your response was so generously loving that I actually felt your love-filled umbrella on a rainy day (hence the photo today).  You made a difference.  ♥

Snuggled down on another dreary day, my strength increases again thanks to you.  My smile widens, my heart feels fuller and peace fills in the empty spaces.  It’s just that there are times when we all simply need a hug…

My heartfelt hugs to all of you, always.

Shine On!

Keys to Harmony

keystoharmony

I am learning the keys to harmony.  Perhaps in the back of my mind, I have known the tune all along, but had resorted to humming, instead of learning the lyrics.  I think that may be what many of us do in life.  We either stay silent or we hit a wrong note in an attempt to be heard.  Or we hum the melody without using our words.

And sometimes this serves us.

And sometimes, it does not.

The keys are to know the difference.

Often attempts at harmony are not met with enthusiasm for various reasons.  We sing in different keys and therefore to be in harmony with others, we need to compromise and find the middle ground in order to communicate easily.  One wrong note and the harmony ceases.  It’s often difficult for each person to be themselves, to sing their own part and somehow find harmony with those around them.  It takes practice, patience, understanding and listening from a place of love in order to harmonize with others.  We cannot come to the piano bench expecting to play life’s keys perfectly without listening for those around us as they play their tune as well.

Listening to others’ tunes, hearing how they hit the notes, noticing which ones they miss and how they feel about harmony takes practice.  Being in an observer mode, hearing our own notes and seeing the whole orchestral piece of music helps the players get along and helps the musical piece rise to new heights.

To be in tune with ourselves is a gift, like The Presents of Presence.  To appreciate the music in others is a precious gift as well.  It takes courage to play our own tune.  It takes love to harmonize with others.  But when it all comes together, love shines through the blended piece!

Today, listen to your song.  Take a moment to listen to Nature.  As you pass through the lives of others today, whether it is a brief encounter or a lifelong relationship, hum your song and listen as others tune in with harmony!

Shine On!
