December 1st Rabbit Rabbit

december1strabbitrabbit

The holidays are coming as December 1st heralds the way!  Please take the opportunity to spread peace and love this month, beginning today.  Notice how the rabbits are touching and lighting the way for connections.  You can do this too – shine your heartlights!  Take the time to be with family and friends.  Give of yourself with infinite kindness.  You matter.  You make a difference.  You are extraordinary!

I hope you remembered to say Rabbit Rabbit yesterday without my reminder!  I’m sorry I wasn’t able to post this on time, but I do pray you have the most abundant month full of love, light, caring, health, wealth, holiday spirit and joy!

Shine On!

November First Rabbit Rabbit

nov1st2018

Today’s a special day, the first of November which if you know me, you know we say Rabbit Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit!  But it’s also All Saints Day for those who are Catholic.

Even though my Dad passed away years ago, today would have been his birthday and I can’t help but think of him today as he comes to mind often in unusual ways.  In fact, I’m grateful as friends of his have reached out to me today to let me know they are thinking of him too.  I got the card below which touched my heart and I think goes well with the faith part of today.

May the sweet card above inspire you, increase your faith and help you to find joy in the month ahead.  What a beautiful quote from Mary Alice Michaels!

In honor of September 1st and our tradition of Rabbit Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit, I thought I’d include this special page from the book The Velveteen Rabbit.

May your September begin with much health, love, and gratitude!  May you have the loveliest month ahead!  Keep shining your heartlights please because many of us are still on TILT and our world could use all the kindness, compassion, patience, understanding and love that we can give!

Rabbit Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit!

So say it with me and enjoy all the blessings the month ahead brings to you and yours!

June 1st!  You know what that means, don’t you?  Rabbit Rabbit, White Rabbit White Rabbit!

I looked back to the original post and it was on June 1, 2014 that I began the tradition.  Does it seem like it’s been four years already?  Time certainly flies in some respects and with others, it’s very slow and sometimes tedious.

But today’s a celebration – an anniversary of sorts for the four years that I’ve been reminding you to welcome the new month full of goodness!  So join me today in cheering for a month ahead filled with heartlights shining, love surrounding us and all the goodness this Universe has to offer each and every one of us!

Smile today!  Feel the blessings that are bestowed on you and raise your vibrations to embrace all with whom you connect today – especially yourself!

Shine On!

Rabbit Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit

Rabbit, Rabbit…White Rabbit, White Rabbit…

If you’ve been here before, you know that today is the first of the month, which brings me to repeating, Rabbit Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit.  If you are wondering what in the world I am talking about, please continue reading…if you already know, don’t forget to say it! 🙂

On the first of every month, we say, “Rabbit, rabbit, white rabbit, white rabbit,” in the morning before breakfast (although it’s a loose rule because years ago when my son was 5, he cried because he forgot to say it before he ate and was convinced he would have a bad month)  So, being the good Mom, I amended the rule quickly before the tears really began rolling.  In fact, as my sons have grown, they’ve twisted the rabbit, rabbit to monkey, monkey ~ in a show of independence and yet caring for dear ol’ Mom.  Not quite rebelling as such, but doing it their way.  I don’t mind, I think it’s funny because they get such a kick out of saying it to me.

Do any of you know of this tradition?  I can’t tell you where it began for me or how…I just know that the start of the new month has me declaring that phrase before savoring my first sip of my coffee in the early morning and brings me a smile knowing that I’ve begun my month with luck!

I started looking up the phrase ‘Rabbit, rabbit” and a plethora of websites and theories abounded.  Some stated that the tradition started in the 1880s, some stated that there are conditions upon saying the phrase to another person, some even have a slight variation on the way it’s said (hare in the morning, rabbit at night).  It’s an interesting take on a cute family tradition that I never thought much about….until now.

One piqued my interest:

“There is a tradition in the military (at least in the USAF) involving white rabbit. It is a game, as well as a way to keep in touch with those with whom you were stationed. When a new month begins, it is a contest as to who can tell the other person ‘white rabbit’ first; must be live communication, no answering machines, letters, etc. Usually the wager would be a drink. However, like I said, it allowed you an ‘excuse’ to call people once a month and catch up.”

So, in the military tradition, I send you Rabbit, Rabbit first…

Now let’s go get a Mimosa to start off our month with luck!

For me, it’ll be lucky because you’re buying!

Have you said it this morning?

Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit to YOU!

Shine On!
