Daily Prompt ~ Superstar!

Daily Prompt: Ready for Your Close-up

Photographers, artists, poets: show us SUPERSTAR.

A few years ago, I had my hubby take this photo of me because I felt so triumphant ~ I’ve been NED (no evidence of disease) from my breast cancer diagnosis for quite a few years now, but that December I was feeling so great!  It was during the holidays and as you may know, I was diagnosed on New Year’s Eve of 2001, so December is often a melancholy month for me.  One that insists that I take the joy and the changes in stride in my life ~ one that makes me be grateful for what I have in the now ~ hence The Presents of Presence ~ as I’ve learned that NOW is all we can control ~ if we can truly control anything.

So when the Daily Prompt asked for photographers to show SUPERSTAR, I thought of this photo.  My best friend called this shot Golden ME ~ so here I am!

We are all Superstars!

IHU Funny Story!

tupperwareI have to share a funny story with you.  You know I’ve been saying YES to opportunities this week as a part of  Inner Hotshot University!

Now some of you may be thinking…TUPPERWARE?  Really?  It’s still around?  Well, I’m here to tell you that it is ~ and in stretching my comfort zone, I found that cooking dinner every night may become fun for me!  Giggle Giggle!

For those that know me well, you know that  I am not a fan of cooking at all!  But as a Mom, it’s a necessity ~ especially with hungry kids!  So when I was invited to a Tupperware Party, I said yes because if I’m going to promote IHU ~ I have to not only be a fan, but I have to walk the walk and talk the talk, right?  So off I went!

And my eyes were opened to hundreds of fun gadgets for the kitchen!  I was like a giggling schoolgirl as I learned how to make cooking easy, fun and nutritious for my family!  Weeknights may be different soon at my house!  It was so much fun to watch how the hostess Judy demonstrated all sorts of fun with Tupperware!

But the one thing that impressed me was when Judy made a cake in 9 minutes!  Yes, a real cake, from a cake mix in the microwave!  Can you believe it?  Am I the only one here that’s amazed?  I asked her for the recipe and info so that I could share:

Delicious Cake in 9 minutes!

Ingredients:  Mix together in a big bowl

1 box of cake mix (your choice ~ she used yellow)

1 can of pie filling (she used cherry)

3 eggs.

Put in the  cone of the 3 qt Tupperware, pour in batter and put into microwave for 9-10 minutes depending on how hot your microwave is!

Let stand for 5 minutes and voila!  Dessert is served!

There are even cake making recipes that don’t have the pie filling and eggs!

I am NOT going to become a Tupperware representative, but I am stretching my cooking comfort zone with a bit of help!  My family may just be amazed when dinner is served with a happy, relaxed face on Mom every night!  If you’re interested, Judy’s website is http://www.judytw.com

See how just one yes can change your outlook?  I just had to share my funny story!  I can’t wait to hear more of yours tomorrow!  Countdown begins!  Have you stretched your comfort zone this week?  Come on!  You can do it!

You know how in football, before the goal, they say HIKE and the play begins?  Well, that’s where I am ~ I love this card because in answering the Daily Prompt’s questions it fits perfectly.  So here are my answers.  Feel free to comment below and answer these questions as well!  I’d love to hear about you too!

When you started this blog, did you set any goals?

To be honest, I set out to just try to blog in the beginning.  I wanted to share what I’d learned from enduring breast cancer as I was a celebrating being a 10 year survivor!  To me, it was an awakening that I was still here even after all I’d endured.  I wanted to write a book, but I felt like what I was writing was riddled with jumps in storytelling.  It didn’t flow properly.

The idea of a blog, a little daily tidbit, appealed to me.  So I simply set out to write often about whatever was pertinent to me that day in hopes that someone out there in this big world would find some type of comfort and connection to it/me.  I wanted to find and forge a community of people who would connect and enjoy life.

Lift each other up, empathize when needed and inspire each other ~

connecting with our strengths and developing our weaknesses.

Have they changed at all?

Certainly they’ve changed.  But the core is still there.  I believe that we are all connected and I love the safe sense of community which bloggers enjoy.  As I wrote above, the blog has developed as time has gone on.  Now with Inner Hotshot University, I’m playing with connecting our strengths and developing our weaknesses by simply taking the commitment to do one thing every week to stretch out of our comfort zones.  I’m not a professional.  I just want to inspire you to continue to learn, to create the life you love living, to appreciate your life and to be grateful.

I started out as Misifusa’s Blog until the name The Presents of Presence came to me and then I changed it.  Eventually I may be expanding…♥♥♥

I am inspired by you all ~ I learn from you ~ and I am so very grateful for your presence in my life!

Share your story!

Daily Prompt: Goals

When you started your blog, did you set any goals? Have you achieved them? Have they changed at all?
