Radiate and Shine On!

shineon

I always end my posts with Shine On!  I don’t know why, but it began awhile back.  For some reason, the phrase Shine On brings me a plethora of emotion.  It’s like a farewell, till we connect again, and a gentle reminder to continue radiating love and light into the world.  Keep shining your special, unique self and sparkle so the world is brighter because of you.  Shine your heartlight brightly dear friends!  Our souls connect in the light of hope, love and prosperity.  Darkness cannot survive in the light.

Kindness, caring, compassion and understanding are key.  When we are patient with ourselves and with all of those around us, our heartlights beat at a higher vibration, thus radiating more sparkling light – we, in fact, shine on ourselves and our beautiful world bringing more peace and healing.

I am ever grateful for the loving, healing connections I’ve made through blogging and I am ever grateful and appreciative of each and every one of you.  Your heartlights brighten my world.  Our connections help to heal and to spread love.

Our world needs more light, love and healing.  Please take a moment today to…

Shine On!

Before You Can “Let Go and Let God”

beforeyoucan

“Before you can, ‘Let Go and Let God,’

you have to let Him in!”

Such simple advice for a Sunday, don’t you think?  Traditionally Sunday is a day of rest from the week’s work and a day designed to relax, to enjoy and to be aware that life is good.  It is a day for family, for enjoyment and for pleasure.

Take some time today to pray, to meditate, and to enjoy stillness with gratitude.  If you can, walk outside to experience the gifts Mother Nature brings every single day.  Look up to the sky, notice the clouds, the stars, the sun and the moon.  If it’s raining, feel the raindrops and the gratitude for the water which feeds all life.  Be grateful for the blessings in your life, even the tiniest ones like waking up this morning!  When we begin to notice even the littlest blessings, more blessings come to us because we are concentrating on that which we have and not what we feel we lack.

Letting go and letting God is scary for many of us have that sense of wanting to be in control and believing we can make things happen simply by actions or wishing or even saying affirmations and imagining what we want to come to us.  By all means, use whatever you find comfort in, but don’t forget about God.  Pray for what is yours by Divine Right.  What is yours, comes to you with perfect timing.  We can’t rush what is to be.  We can only allow what we have now to flourish, to do our best in all that we do and trust that the Universe and God will provide.  Just like the birds who find food even in the scarcest of winters, God provides for us.  We just have to let Him in and allow Him to help us by trusting Him.

Don’t lose faith when what you wish for doesn’t come to fruition.  It’s not meant to be.  As they say, you can’t push the river, but you can go with the flow.  Continue with your actions, but be mindful and watch for signs from Above.  Ask if you are on the right path and know when there’s a detour, it’s probably meant to be.

I write for you and for myself as reminders.  I am guilty of trying to push the river, to plan ahead and to take action for what I want and sometimes it all backfires.  Then I begin again because I feel as if I need to be in control.  But it’s laughable at times since control is an illusion.

When we let God in, we allow miraculous healing to occur.  We allow blessings to expand and we allow gifts to be experienced.  We are each blessed.  Be thankful.

Shine On!

Mother Teresa on Love

In honor of the canonization of Mother Teresa today, please watch the video below, in her own words, speaking of love.

Mother Teresa speaking of love

“Where does this love begin? In our own family, in our own home.  How does it begin?  By praying together.  Family that prays together, stays together and if you stay together, you will love one another as God loves each one of you

Today in the world there is so much suffering.  Because of that one of prayer of unity in the family so today when we are together, let us make one strong resolution that we will bring prayer into our family, that we will teach our children to pray and pray with them and you will see the joy and the love and the peace that will come into your hearts.  Because the fruit of prayer is the deepening of faith and the fruit of faith is love and the fruit of love is service and the fruit of service is peace.  Works of love are works of peace that is why let us bring the tender love of God in our families.”

~Mother Teresa, speech on Love

Love one another.

Pray.

Life’s Journey

life'sjourney

Life’s Journey

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

– Lao Tzu

Life has its own path of twists and turns, many of which are made by our own free will or the free will of others in our tribe.  Sometimes circumstances beyond our control can also throw a proverbial monkey wrench into our life paths, causing us to traverse mountains and rugged terrain as we sort through changes that we may have never wanted to see coming.

What I’ve found to help me as I’ve traversed rocky terrain has been to add love to every situation by throwing in a dash of positive thinking, forgiveness for myself and others, a splash of kindness and compassion and a letting go of the reigns of responsibility and control to which I sometimes grip too tightly.  A continual reminder to keep gratitude in the forefront has aided my healing as well.  Keeping the faith and allowing the Universe to help me has created much positivity and peace in my life.  Lastly, connecting with others, opening my heart, mind and soul to trusted friends who have helped me when I’ve stumbled, has made the journey more endearing and has lessened the angst.

For me, I always feel as though I can do anything if someone else believes in me and walks along with me on this chapter of life’s path in a companionable way.  Connect with me, hold my hand (not necessarily physically, but emotionally), for awhile, link arms with me in friendship and support and know the difference between listening, advising and telling.

I am here, hopefully back to blogging as I have missed you all very much.  I pray that while I’ve been absent from blogging that you have been well, continuing to shine your heartlights and being you ~ a loving, supportive community of heartlit writers who care!  You know, I’m your biggest fan!

Comfort

comfort

“Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.”

~ George Eliot aka Mary Ann Evans

Giving and receiving comfort brings enormous joy and fulfillment in life and is how we connect with others.  Mary Ann Evans, whose pen name was George Eliot, explains it so beautifully in the above quote, that I simply had to share it with you today.

May you find comfort in every day!

May you give comfort every day!

The Peace Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

peace

“Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me bring your love,
Where there is injury your pardon Lord,
And where there’s doubt true faith in you.

Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there’s despair in life, let me bring hope,
Where there is darkness, only light,
And where there’s sadness, ever joy.

O Master grant that I may never seek,
So much to be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of your peace,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
In giving of ourselves that we receive.
And in dying that we’re born to eternal life.

O Master grant that I may never seek,
So much to be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
And to love as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of your peace,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
In giving of ourselves that we receive.
And in dying that we’re born to eternal life.

Make me a channel of your peace.”

~ St. Francis of Assisi

Shine your heartlights.  Our world needs peace.

11:11

1111

Today, I witnessed 11:11am as I often do.  It’s silly really, but it also reminds me that I am loved, for when  I see the above numbers, I take them as a sign from above that there is someone(s) watching over me during these trying times in my life.  Today is 7/11 which are spiritual numbers as well (if you prescribe to that type of thinking) and I eagerly envelope my heart/mind/soul with faith and love today.

Our world crumbles more and more lately, so much that it pains me to watch the news.  So today, I request that we take a moment to send out loving positive energy to all in order to bring more peace to our world.  Imagine if we could all blanket our world with the soft comfy clouds as in the photo above, shining our peaceful heartlights with forgiveness, healing, kindness, compassion and love.

What a wonderful world this would be, don’t you think?

The Layers of Now

thelayersofnow

The Layers of Now

Being present is what I yearn to be, although like many others, I teeter-totter in the realm of past rememberings or anticipating future fears of what’s to come.  It’s a fine line between the past, the present and the future.  One sharp word can trigger a memory and I’m conjuring up past wounds, beliefs and heartbreak.  One kind word and I’m breathing deeply in the present moment, finding my center of peace.  One anxious word and I’m fearing the uncharted territory of the future.

So where does one go?

Into The Layers of Now!

The Layers of Now is how I’ve found peace within me during chaotic times of trouble which seem to gather around me lately like thunderclouds sweeping in during a summer storm.  I don’t know if I can explain what I’m doing so that it will make sense to you, but I will try.

Simply put, I consciously try with all of my might,

to layer my present moment of presence.

If I need to cha cha into the past, I take a few steps back, rock forward to the present moment and repeat as necessary until the dance becomes obscured by the smile on my face as the music trills in my head, because I have changed my tune.  I drop what wounds I held onto as they don’t serve me anymore.  I allow the knowledge that we are all here together, doing the best we can to remind me that I am not without mistakes either.  I forgive the past, remember what I have endured and face the present with peace in my heart.

If I need to face the future, I step up, then rock back to the present and repeat as necessary.  Never actually staying in the future for it is certainly uncertain at this point, but also, never losing sight of the solidity of the present moment.  Thus I can grow my presents of presence.

Then, when I need to feel present in all the glory or chaos that is this very moment, I step to the side, into observer mode, facing my fears, my angst, euphoria and sadness with the magnitude of a maestro layering the chorus of past/present/future into a hit song that encompasses it all!  I stand by, not engaging, but simply looking with gratitude for all the facets of my life, no matter where they may be, past, present, future, happy, sad, uncertain and I just envelope them in my heart as the layers of now and rejoice, for I am here to experience and connect each and every emotion and feeling.

I am here,

to witness my life as it is right now with gratitude.

*

I am here,

to remember how far I have come from my past with gratitude.

*

I am here,

to open my heart, mind and soul,

to welcome with arms outstretched,

the unseen experiences that may come my way on my future path.

All at the same time.

Connecting…The Layers of Now.

Shine On!
