Let’s Fire Up Your Life!

40241_Anything that is worth having is worth working for.

Good morning!  I’m reblogging a post from Open Your Journey ~ Create the life you’ll love to live ~ as I think it’s an excellent way for us to kick off IHU (Inner Hotshot University) and hopefully get you moving and grooving!  Start thinking about what you want to try to do as your personal stretch out of your comfort zone goal for the week.  It doesn’t have to be big, it just has to be something that makes you take that baby step!  I think we’ll start on Friday so start thinking what you’re going to try to do!  Remember we’re all here together to connect and to help each other succeed!  I believe in you and I know we can do it together!

I’m thinking that we can also connect via my FB The Presents of Presence Click here!  There we could communicate on a more immediate basis!  What do you think?  When you need a bit of applause, we could all gather there as well on a daily basis!  Stop by when you get a chance!  I post inspirational tidbits and giggles to brighten the day!

I hope that you get fired up below and hop on over to Bobbi’s blog when you get a moment!  She’s a life coach and has some great ideas ~ and if you’re interested, she can be your life coach as well!

Let’s Find Your Old Spark To Fire-Up Your Life!

“Fire-Up, you say?” with tears at the ready edge of the thought of adding anything to this never-ending, overstuffed schedule called life. I can hear you protesting from the depth of your unfulfilled soul, “But, I’m exhausted! I do everything for everybody, all day, every day, except for me, and there’s simply no time left over!”

Well, I hear you, and I truly empathize. I was that woman scattered in every direction, every day like a hamster in his little pretend merry-go-round wheel. In fact, sometimes, on a low day, I just wanted to jump off that merry-go-round because it just wasn’t that merry anymore, and I sadly resented feeling locked into it. I loved my family, and I loved my career, and I loved all the friends and neighbors, and causes, etc., but my plate was simply too full. And I’m not saying I really, really wanted to run away (though I occasionally dreamt about being on a desert island quite happily), but I couldn’t see a way to make the exhausting repetition and expectations stop. I didn’t know how to carve out room for me. My energy was drained and there was no time for that, so then came the colds…basically this was my “dis-ease” time in my life.

So, having been there, I feel for you, and I feel for so many people I know right now. Friends I once knew as happy and productive people, now have lives completely driven by the daily saucer-juggling that fills and evaporates their every day. The only sense of calm they have is their feeling of “not-too-far behind” as they collapse on their pillows, night after exhausting night. And now that they have lost their spark, they have lost their joy. Happiness, for them now, is the occasional vacation, but with just a different to-do list and almost not worth it.

Okay, so remember back when you felt alive, energized by new ideas and creativity, and you felt free to try new things and embrace life? Try hard, now, you know there was a time! Maybe you have to go as far back when you were a teenager, but I know you can remember having a zest for life somewhere in your history. That’s what you want back. You want a fire in your belly…sparked by a passion…a reason to feel alive and participating…making a difference…connecting with what you’re here to embrace. And the path to that old spark is becoming re-acquainted with your worthiness. My guess is you forgot you deserve to be giving your excitement and gifts to the world. You only need to go inside of you to your deepest and safest sanctuary to remember your inner voice. Listen. It says you are here for a reason. This lifetime isn’t a practice, so you can and should be exploring, creating, teaching, learning, giving, growing, and making a difference in the wholeness of your existence! All in little steps starting with believing you could…believing you should…believing you can…believing you will…and then reaching for what inspires you to go for your joy.

How about you take a baby step today? Start with a belief that you deserve to have a life that includes your happiness, too. (Okay, so maybe that’s a giant step for you? I don’t know, but, you have to admit, it’s not unrealistic.) Add to that a little brainstorming and some creative planning with someone who believes in you and can keep you on your “I-deserve-it” track. And voila! Your spark will be back! Just imagine that…I mean really, really imagine yourself…energized, fired-up, and happy! Will it be worth it? You better believe it! So why are you waiting?

Needing Personal Space

40418_Contemplation…

I love this card’s image and today it seems like a great one for the Daily Prompt!  The questions made me stop and think about my reasons for blogging and about the content that I post so here goes….

Daily Prompt: Personal Space

To what extent is your blog a place for your own self-expression and creativity vs. a site designed to attract readers?

I believe that my blog is both self-expression with a touch of creativity designed to inspire readers to live in the present and to enjoy The Presents of Presence ~ to revel in the glimpse of  light when they’ve seen the darkness.  Its purpose is to engage readers and to build a community of friendship and sharing.  It’s a place to find the glass 1/2 full of positivity when you need to be filled up because you are dragging.  Truthfully, yes, I want my site to attract readers, but its posts are written from my heart about whatever I wish to include ~ whatever moves me on that particular day in hopes that the words, the thoughts, and the images will spark some connection to the reader.

How do you balance that?

I can’t be sure if I balance that ~ I think my readers need to have a say in that answer!

If sticking to certain topics and types of posts meant your readership would triple, would you do it?

Well, yes I would be willing to stick to certain topics and types of posts if I thought that it would reach more people!  But I’ve never liked to be pigeon-holed into what others think of me.  I believe we are all complex souls and we write on the subjects we are comfortable with and have experience in knowing.  I write on death, on positivity, on breast cancer, on surviving life’s trials and tribulations.  I write on whatever strikes my fancy everyday ~ just like I don’t always participate in the Daily Post because I am not willing to write about what doesn’t touch my heart.

So my readers, I’d love to ask you:

Are there certain topics you’d like more of?  Less of?

What’s your answer to the above questions on your own blogs?

Happy May Day!

Don’t forget to say Rabbit Rabbit!

Shine On!

Making Special Valentines!

Creating Classic Custom Valentines ~ Reblog from SOC!

cardscollage

Creating custom cards is one of the great things about SendOutCards. While we have an extensive collection of cards for almost any holiday, sometimes a card that you customize all by yourself is the best kind of card.

A lot of the same can be said about creating Valentine’s Day cards, even when you’re creating them in bulk. While cards continue to become more extensive in design and bigger in size, the classic Valentine  (the smaller ones you received as a kid and/or in elementary school) are still some of the best kinds.

So how can you give out these classic cards without limiting yourself to the pre-made cards at the store? How can you add your creative twist to this classic?

We’re glad you asked!

One of the many great hidden treasures in the SendOutCards Photo Store is the Playing Cards Deck. But how can a deck of cards help you create personalized Valentines? An ordinary deck might not get you far, but the Playing Cards Deck from SendOutCards is a different story.

cards1

These custom Valentines are perfect for kids to bring to school and they’re also a fun way to create a classic Valentine to give to your friends, family, neighbors or coworkers.

For the sample above, we created a variety of 54 Valentines (including the Joker cards). All the designs you see are in the Artwork and Backgrounds gallery within the SOC Photo Store.

Start creating your own personalized, classic Valentines by  following the steps below!

If you don’t have an account, log onto http://www.sendoutcards.com/126830 and send a card for free ~ when you do, you’ll create a free account.

Then after you’ve made your free account you can begin!  If you already have a SendOutCards account then…

Start, by logging into your SendOutCards Photo Store Account by visiting: http://www.socphotostore.com. After you’ve logged on, you’ll see a wheel of different projects you can create. Click on “Other Gifts” option on the first wheel.

step1

That will open a second wheel, where you’ll need to click on “Playing Card Deck.”

step2

Next, you’ll be taken to the customization page.

step3

Select the “Design Your Own” option and then click “Next Step.

step4

The cards are separated by suites. However, in the “Design Your Own” option, this isn’t applicable, since there will not be number or suites appearing on your custom cards. Be sure you click through each suite and create a design for each card. There are a total of 54 cards (including the Joker cards).

step5

The SOC Photo Store has hundreds of built-in background and graphics that you can select from. But you can also upload your own graphics and photos in the “My Photos” option. For this example, we’ll be pulling graphics from the SOC Photo Store library.

step7

You can design your cards on a white (default) or a solid color background. There also custom backgrounds, separated by categories. For the cards in our example, we’re using the backgrounds in the “Valentines” folder.

step8

Next, we’re going to add some artwork on top of our background image. Again, we’ll be pulling the graphics from the SOC Photo Store library. You can find an array of different images under the “Artwork” option of your menu. Like the backgrounds, these graphics split into different categories. For example, we’ll be pulling graphics from the “Valentines” folder.

step9

To add graphics, just drag the graphic you want to use onto your card.

menu

Depending on the card you’re working with and the look and feel you’re trying to achieve, you’ll have to adjust the size and position accordingly.  You can do so by using the dark grey menu above.

When you’re finished creating all your cards. Click on the “Back of all cards” option on the left hand side of screen.

step10

The back of the deck will have to be one consistent image and/or text. For our sample, we’ll be creating the “to and from” area.  If you decide to do the same, you have the option of filling-in your name now, or you can leave it blank and personally sign it after you’ve printed them.

Text can be added by selecting the “Text” tab on your menu.  Similar to the background/images, you’ll drag the “ABC” box on to your card and move the box according to where you want your text to be.

step11

Once you’ve decided, you can begin typing your text in the box in the “Text” tab. You can also change your font, size and color in the same menu box. In addition, you can move your text, rotate it and resize accordingly, using the dark grey menu next to your card.

step12

After you’ve added your text, you can also add any additional artwork or graphics.

When you’re done creating all your cards, click on the “Preview” option to view your work. If you’re happy with your cards, click “Add to Cart” to get your cards processed and print!

Sunday’s Inspirational Gal

69200079_

This morning, I happened upon the story of an inspiring 16 year old Irish gal who in September of 2012, was awarded the People of the Year Award in Dublin, Ireland.  Her story can be found on her website which I included below ~ as well as many pictures from her FB page which you can find at http://www.nolimbsnolimits.net/ which is her official website!  Joanne was born with a rare physical disability called Total Amelia which means she was born without all four limbs even though there is no medical explanation for this occurrence.  Neither Joanne nor her family have ever allowed this to hold her back.  In fact, she is quite inspiring and I highly recommend that you click on her website above!

Words fail me in telling you her story, so I’ll let Joanne do it on her website.  Please, take a moment today to fill up your spiritual cup with a dose of love, extraordinary human spirit and endless possibility!  The word is not impossible, it’s…

I’m Possible!

Daily Prompt: “Think Global and Act Local”

8852308_

The reason why the Universe is eternal is that it does not live for itself;

it gives life to others as it transforms. -Lao Tzu

Today’s daily prompt:  “Think global, act local.” Write a post connecting a global issue to a personal one resonated with me and when I went searching for an image from my SendOutCards greeting card catalog, I knew I had to share!

With today’s daily prompt, I challenge you during the month of February to practice gratefulness for 30 days.  As an 11 year breast cancer survivor, I’ve learned that the key to enduring life’s journey is simple ~  LOVE and GRATITUDE.

World peace is possible by taking small steps ~ and it begins with you and me.

Imagine for a moment going to your mailbox  ~  you rummage through the junk mail, the bills, the newspapers, etc.  As you quickly peruse the pile, you see an envelope which isn’t a bill, isn’t junk mail and you’re curious.  This is the envelope you open first, isn’t it?  This envelope is an unexpected card from me ~ telling you how wonderful you are and how grateful I am for you in my life.  I  don’t know many of you personally, but as a blogging community we’ve bonded in a most unusual way.  The positivity that flows so effortlessly makes it easy for me to send you this real paper card to tell you how happy I am that we’ve connected and how much I enjoy reading your blog.

How do you feel?

Appreciated! Happy!  Special! Loved! Grateful!

And you are smiling…because someone thought of YOU today, took the time to tell YOU

how special YOU are and didn’t ask for anything in return.

That feeling is PRICELESS!

And the greeting card cost only $1 plus postage!

And there’s even financial freedom ~ SendOutCards gives residual income as you think globally by sending cards to everyone all over the world ~ in different languages and act locally by increasing happiness in your world because you are sending a heartfelt message in the card.  You even increase global economy by sending a beautiful card which you do from anywhere in the world, 24/7 via your computer or your phone.  How simple is that?

Sharing GRATITUDE and LOVE increases the good in your life.

Simply click onto GRATITUDE  and get a FREE ACCOUNT!

Sponsor ID is 126830

As for Financial Freedom ~ Click  HERE!

We all deserve a lifetime filled with appreciation, health, happiness,

self-worth,  love and gratitude.

Daily Prompt ~ My Eulogy

38516_

I know I’ve already posted today, but I couldn’t resist…I mean, what is it that you’d like your eulogy to say?  I just think that the concept is so thought-provoking and even life changing that I had to do it….so please indulge me…this is what I’d like mine to say…and this is what I’m striving for in my life. ❤

I would love to see yours as well…just click on the link below and post your eulogy today!

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/01/25/daily-prompt-eulogy/

Misifusa was born wearing rose-colored glasses ~ always the dreamer, she looked to romance, to daydreams and to possibilities and never let go of the word HOPE.  She hardly ever arrived early to any appointment nor meeting in her life with the one exception ~ her wedding ~ to which she arrived early as she was so happy to be marrying her husband whom she loved with all of her heart.  He stood by her throughout her lifetime, always standing by her side, holding her hand and lending her his strength when she was weak.  Theirs was a special love ~ a mutual understanding as only 2 Pisces can merge and unite.  Their wedding song was to be a theme throughout their lifetime together, “I love you just the way you are,” and they radiated that love and kinship throughout their blessed marriage.

Misifusa was blessed with 2 incredible sons with her husband.  She adored them and was so proud of who they are ~ she enjoyed every moment with them and always saw the best in them.  Their house was filled with love and peacefulness.  She always felt so grateful that she was blessed with their sons.  They brought her much joy, laughter and peace.

She also enjoyed her cats and felt an amazing bond with most animals, with the big exception of snakes and birds.  She was fond of fresh flowers and had an array of orchids growing in her home.  She disliked housework and cooking and enjoyed a good meal out with her family ~ laughing and smiling.  She was fond of calling her faults “her charms” and many wished she weren’t so ‘charming’ but she found it whimsical and fun to love her whole self.

People naturally flocked to her and she always rooted for the underdog.  She loved helping others and listening to their stories.  Nothing made her happier than when she could make a difference in someone else’s life.  She adored helping them to shift their thinking and to help them to see the light in the darkness.  She strove to shine like a star in the darkest night, hoping that by her example, she could inspire others to find faith, hope, love and joy in their everyday lives.

She survived breast cancer and other health issues which knocked her down for a bit, but she overcame them with sheer endurance and lots of love from her family and her talented doctors.  Her role as the peace-maker was self-given and she reveled in trying to help others to find peace in their lives and with others.  She felt her intuitiveness and found strength in her faith, relying on angelic help when she encountered sadness.

She enjoyed her SendOutCards business as it brought her much joy to send out love to others.  Her published books were a cathartic writing which was well-received by readers all over the globe.  She loved revisiting Spain where she had lived for a time and spoke fluent Spanish which she taught for 11 years in the public school system.  She found peace at the beach, watching the waves roll in.  She loved being on the water and would awaken early just to watch the sunrise in the peacefulness of the mornings with her cup of coffee.

She loved her family and friends and drew great strength from them as well.  She adored singing, reading, writing and relaxing with family and friends.  At times she could be fearless, but mostly she was conservative in her actions to her chagrin.  She launched the highly successful The Presents of Presents and could often be found traveling the world after her boys graduated college.  She was grateful for everyday and her mantra was:  Yesterday was the past, tomorrow is the future.  Today is a gift, that’s why it’s called THE PRESENT.

Be the Peace ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

January 15, 1929 – April 04, 1968
“It does not matter how long you live, but how well you do it,” is just one quote attributed to the man above and because today is his holiday, I am dedicating this post to his quotes.

“Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.”

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”

“Only in the darkness can you see the stars.”

“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

“Those who are not looking for happiness are the most likely to find it, because those who are searching forget that the surest way to be happy is to seek happiness for others.”

“Forgiveness is not an occasional act, it is a constant attitude.”

“No person has the right to rain on your dreams.”

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?”

“It is cheerful to God when you rejoice or laugh from the bottom of your heart.”

“If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way”

“Be The Peace You Wish To See In The World!”
