Powerful Thoughts

“If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.”
—Peace Pilgrim

Today’s quote which I made into the card above is from my friend Paul Mark Sutherland at GoalHabits.com’s quote today Click Here!   Much like my dear friend over at Laurie’s Notes,  I have come to rely upon their morning posts to begin my day with inspiration.  In that quietness before my home awakens, I sip my coffee and contemplate life.  It’s a ritual that I truly enjoy and it’s the time in my day that I carve out just for me.

I notice the birds outside and the skies above.  I take a moment in gratitude for the day, asking for a bit of help as I travel though life.  Our cat Tiffy and I chat a bit while I pet her, getting my fur therapy for the day.  There’s nothing like having an affectionate pet to warm the morning for you.  Do you have a morning or evening ritual which helps you?

When I came across Paul’s quote, I knew I had to share it as well because it’s so true!  Have you heard this quote before?  Have you ever stopped to think about what you think about?  Do you find that you think negative thoughts often?  Have you ever tried to monitor what you are thinking about?

I know that for me, I try to monitor what I say aloud, but those inner thoughts often go unnoticed ~ the negativity sometimes sneaks its way into my thoughts.  I know this because what comes out of my mouth begins as a thought and I sometimes stop myself before speaking.

So in Inner Hotshot University class this week,

let’s step our of our comfort zones and concentrate on our thoughts and words!

I double-dog dare you to count how many times you say something negative

for an hour, then for 12 hours, then for a day!

Ready, set ~ start now!

Let me know how it goes!

Shine On!
