Rabbit Rabbit October 1st

rabbitrabbitoct

It’s the first of the month and you know what you need to do, right?  Say…

Rabbit Rabbit White Rabbit White Rabbit!

May the chill in the air invigorate you

May the falling leaves blanket a path upon the earth for you to walk

May the bejeweled colors ignite your creativity

May what is no longer needed in your life fall away

May comfort foods nourish you

May family time warm your heart

May your head fall upon the pillow nightly with gratitude for the day’s events

May you snuggle down in front of a warm fireside at the end of the day

And fall in love.*

Shine On!

Autumn Winds

autumnwinds.PNG

Autumn winds are beginning to blow here and the seasons are changing.  It’s dark and dreary outside with grey, rainy weather.  As I sit quietly in the house, I can hear the winds howling outside and through the fireplace in my family room.

At first, I questioned the noise as I haven’t previously had a real fireplace in my home.  But as the cats and I listened intently, I realized what the noise was.  You know how it is when you live in a new home.  Every season comes with nuances that are particular to that home.  The farm house has a bunch of them!  Also because I heard that the home wasn’t inhabited for a bit, I guess we are both getting used to each other.

I believe that places have energy too and I have done my best to inhabit this dwelling with love and kindness in my heart.  In turn, I think she (dare I pin a gender on a home?) is welcoming me too – even going so far as to keep me safe (see the post here).  Because it was the propane tank which smelled, urging me to call the gas company when there was no sign of a gas leak in the home and yet there were 3!  I feel like I was saved by the home.  Does that sound crazy?  Because really, there’s a comfort in that thought for me – although I will say that I think the Divine had a lot to do with it as well!

All I know is that it’s getting time to put the heat on as it’s slowly getting chilly here although sweatshirts and socks have done a fine job in the mornings.  (We don’t wear shoes in our home).  But soon it will be sweater weather!  I’m hoping that even though we have a fireplace which doesn’t seem to work, the heat will be enough to keep us warm.

And for the record, this morning, when I walked out to the family room, I noticed the battery operated candle behind the fireplace screen was lit.  There are two of them there and they are those remote controlled ones.  The right one was lit, the left one not.  I did not click the remote, nor was it moved.  I tried to turn the candle off via the remote, but it didn’t work.  The remote still worked with the other candle, but not this one, so I ended up manually turning it off.  But how in the world it was lit, I’ll never know.  Just another quirk to this house.

Candle lit by magic?

As I look out the windows to the farm across the street, I excitedly imagine how the snow will blow and cover the fields.  I think about all the shoveling I will be doing (ugh) and how I will miss my old neighborhood where we all took care of each other.  Out here, I have only met the neighbors briefly and have yet to meet the farmer.  But I have watched his big black and white dog (looks like an Australian shepherd) joyfully run across the now barren fields.  One of these days I want to play with that dog!  Did I ever mention how even though I am a cat owner, I LOVE big dogs?

I hope you have a lovely hump day…gosh I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday!

Shine On!

Sit With Me For Awhile

sitwithmeforawhile

Come sit with me for awhile.  Right here, dear one, on the bench.  Let us enjoy the sunshine on our faces and its glistening sparkles on the water.  Look up, see the leaves changing hue.  Fall is in the air.

I am well dear girl.  Looking down on you with joy in my heart.  You know I’m all around you always.  I am proud of you.  I support you.  I am here for you, even though you can’t see me.  My spirit lives with you and your darling sons.

I know what you’ve been through.  Did you feel me holding your hand when you were sobbing and feeling so bereft?  I was there in the quiet of the middle of the night when the tears were falling.  I was there when your wounded soul needed comfort.  Do you remember the prayers?  I heard them.  I am always listening.

Do you not see the beauty before you?  How the seasons have changed turning greens to golds and rubies?  Let go of the sadness before you.  Move on from the mourning and embrace the changes with your heart.  Like the leaves which let go from the branches, be free of what holds you back.  The ground is safe for you to land upon.  There are others there waiting for you to take that step forward with hope in your heart.

I’m holding your hand.

Walk with me.  Let the earth bond with your feet.  Feel it?  It’s solid, comforting and real.  A soft place to land for you.  Touch the grass.  It’s still fertile and green after the rains.

All is well dear girl.  I am here with you.  I will never leave your side.  Call upon me when you need me.  I am here to help.

You are loved.

Shine On!

Autumnal Changes

autumn

These are those hazy days when summer and autumn meet and blend as one fades and the other picks up its place in the change of seasons.  Winds blow, gently shaking the turning leaves from their branches.  Flowers wither, returning to Earth’s bed for a long winter nap.  Air cools, stuffing the humidity from the air with briskness.

I love the change in seasons.  For as much as many dislike change, we seem to welcome the change in seasons easily.  Perhaps if we could welcome change in our lives as easily, we could welcome with courage instead of shrinking in fear the changes that are inevitable in our lives.

Seasons change.  Relationships change.  We clear out the old to make way for the new.  It does not serve us to stay closed in our boxes in fear of the winds of change that blow.  It only serves us to ride the winds of change into the next chapter of our lives.

With all the full moon, eclipse and blood moon in addition to the astrological changes, along with the equinox, we’ve had a bunch of changes in a row.  Keep your face to the sunshine dear friends.  Changes blow out the old and present the new.  One baby step at a time, change is good.

Hey, it’s October First!  You know what you have to do right?  Repeat after me, “Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit!”

Happy Fall Y’All!

Shine On!
