Emergence

I want to introduce you to my dear friend Iris, by way of her blog which you can find here! While she’s not on WordPress like the rest of us, she’s got amazing insight to share and her post today had me immediately writing one to present her to you because I feel many of you will resonate with her messages.

The post I am referring to is titled On Loss, but after 9/11, perhaps it’s fitting that it should be now. (Fitting, the southern term – my Mom or her family must be around!) – because you know the veil is currently thin with the full moon in Pisces and six planets in retrograde etc. But alas, I get off subject…

What came to me after reading Iris’ post was: a deep harkening to the soul…be present it whispers…be grateful…take the time to listen, to hold sacred which is just what I’m planning to do today.

Many of us have suffered losses. I have many loved ones who have passed away and their love stays with me in the deepest part of my soul. Tucked away like a small reminder of what once was. A treasured memory now almost dusty, but still warmed by my soul’s affection for and with them.

Iris has another website as well so you can really get to know her which is thelightanddarkofday.com As someone who has benefited from her gifts, I can heartily recommend booking a session with her as she is warm, inviting and full of inner wisdom which radiates within us. Please tell her I sent you if you should decide to reach out to her. She can let you know what session would best benefit you. She’s been a dear friend to me, as well as an insightful companion and mentor. Her understanding of our world and its creatures as well as the humanity and heart of all that beats within is incredible. You will find yourself grateful for the gift of Iris as I do.

Snake In The Grass

I took the puppy out this morning and found this snake in the grass. I have to admit, it gave me a fright because it’s the first snake I’ve seen here since we moved in almost five years ago! I’ve heard from the neighbors that there’s a really big snake that was sighted last summer, but I never had the luck in seeing it. Thank goodness for my lucky streak!

With luck continuing to be on my side, Buster was oblivious which was even better. I can’t imagine trying to wrangle a dangling snake out of his mouth in the wee hours of the morning before coffee! Who am I kidding – I would be screaming my head completely off and probably have a heart attack right there if that were to happen! I am not good with snakes at all!

Quickly, I refocused him to another part of the yard while I kept an eye on said snake. After he attended to his morning business, I daringly walked him near to where the snake had been. That’s when I noticed that the snake hadn’t moved from when I first saw it and realized that it was no longer alive. Whew. Sorry snake, but I breathed a huge sigh of relief.

I kept hoping that perhaps the hawk that dropped it (that’s my theory) would come back to retrieve it, but that never happened. All day I awaited one of the many predators outside to enjoy a free snack, I mean snake (haha), but unfortunately, none of them were interested in free take out. So I guess one of us will be removing him from the lawn sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, in the basement, another carcass was found, this time it was a mouse. What’s with Mother Nature today? Two wildlife deaths in one day? I wonder what the foreboding message is here. Any ideas?

When looking up dead snake spiritual meaning, I found this: A dead snake comes as an omen that somebody’s trickery, lies, and deceit has come to an end. Whether their attempts to manipulate or deceive you were successful or not may never be known. But, the dead snake’s omen endures regardless—you are leaving behind anxious times where trusting people was difficult, and now you are coming to a point in your life where you can count on and value the honesty on your inner circle.

When looking up dead mouse spiritual meaning, I found this: So a dead mouse in your house is not always an omen for something bad. It can be the message from the universe to pay attention, change the course of action, and see what opportunities there are coming your way. So when you find yourself facing difficulties in life or need guidance on how to live it better, look around for dead mice! They may have some important messages that will help you make decisions about your future.

Dead mice often see as symbols of death, especially when they appear out of nowhere or without any visible injury. Seeing dead mice is considered unlucky because it is indicative of someone dying soon – usually yourself! And this means that dead mice meaning should never be taken lightly because people do die suddenly from time to time even though there might not seem like anything wrong at first sight with them. Dead mice also represent people who have recently died so seeing one may mean that person has passed on and is no more in this world.

Others claim dead mice pieces are omens of a journey you need to undertake, and the dead mouse omen will be delivered by those who are either close or loved ones come to visit from the next realm. They want you to know they’re there for you, even after their physical death!

Some people believe dead mice represent journeys or new opportunities in life. So seeing them means your loved ones have come down from heaven with messages for you – either warning or welcoming news will soon surface! But before leaving, these spirits ask us never to forget about them because once you die out here, a lot of changes will take place.

In more general terms, dead mice mean someone’s death will soon come and it is time to fix things with the person because this might be your last chance!

Wow! Who know that there could be so many interpretations! Please feel free to deliver any messages you get from this post (if you get them) as I’d appreciate any insight you may have!

I hope you’re all having a lovely Saturday!

It’s So Hot Even The Wildlife Are Weary

itssohoteventhewildlifeareweary

We are having extremely hot temperatures here for the past few days.  My air conditioners at the house are suffering as they never get a chance to rest and it’s still 80 degrees in here.  But it’s better than the heat outside, so I’m not complaining.

Yesterday, I looked outside and saw this little guy on my patio.  At first, he wasn’t moving and I was concerned that perhaps he was dead, but once he heard my voice, he picked his little head up and when he saw me, off he scampered back into this little burrow under the shed.

Today, he was in the same position and I can’t help but wonder if it wouldn’t be cooler in his home under the ground?  Or perhaps he just felt like being outside in the shade?

He’s little and there’s a much larger version of him as well.  They bolt noisily across the patio when they hear me coming.  But I think it was so hot that he was weary from the heat so he didn’t notice me until he heard my voice talking to him.

I’m thinking he’s a groundhog or a woodchuck.  I researched and found out he’s a marmot (which is the collective word for groundhogs and woodchucks).  He can stand up on his hind legs and look around.  I tried to get a photo of that because it reminded me of those prairie dogs, but he noticed me and ran away.  Such is my luck…but I’ll keep trying!

I looked up groundhog and here’s part of the spiritual message:

Take time out today for meditation and self reflection. Use Groundhog energy to go deeper and to dig out what is unseen within you.
-Groundhog

Here is another version as well!  Click here for marmot symbolism!

I’ve named him Digger.  But I need a name for his larger friend.  Do you have you any ideas?  If you get a spiritual animal message from him to me, please share!

Cats And Unseen Energy

catsandunseenenergy

My cats have been acting strangely this morning.  It happens every once in awhile, but since I recently wrote about energy, I thought perhaps someone could give me a little insight.  Please?

This morning, our older cat was quietly sitting on the couch when suddenly, without warning, she jumped up as if she had been startled by something and then raced off the couch, skid across the floor and out of the room at full speed.  It was as it someone had poked her while she was quietly relaxing and then chased her.  But there was nobody near her.

I was stunned by her reaction.  At first, I thought it was that she realized she had to go to the bathroom right now.  Sometimes that urge happens to all of us.  So I followed her, but she ran straight into my bedroom and hid herself under the bed.

I didn’t see anything. I sat on my bed for a few minutes, trying to gauge if there were something more, something unseen that perhaps she saw or felt and I did not.  But I wasn’t aware of anything.  After a few minutes, she came out from underneath the bed and I carried her baby style in my arms, back into the family room so I could finish my coffee.

Back on the couch, she nestled next to me.  She wouldn’t close her eyes to cat nap as she usually does.  She stayed alert.  Every once in awhile, her ears perked up, but I heard only silence.  I looked around the room, but saw nothing amiss.

Our other kitty who is younger was already sleeping somewhere else.  However, about an hour later, she moseyed into the family room.  Suddenly she started batting at something unseen.  It was as if someone was playing with her.  She ran around in circles, jumping up occasionally and then raced out of the room.  Two minutes later, she ran back into the room to repeat the playing and raced out again.  It was such a peculiar sight.  As I watched her, I wondered if there was someone or something unseen by me in the room.  The older cat watched expectantly from her perch next to me, but she didn’t move.

I’d like to think that whatever caused the girls (as I call the cats) to act so strangely was a kind energy, acting playfully with them.  Because afterwards they both settled down as if nothing had happened.

Do any pet owners out there have any similar experiences?  The unexplained noises have been happening again that I’ve written about here.  I thought it was the change of seasons with the heating system, but now I’m not so sure.  Truly, the girls acted as if they were interacting with something that I couldn’t see.  Has this ever happened in your home?

Little Bird Laid To Rest

littlebirdlaidtorest

The bumble bee encounter had me buzzing with life’s renewal and the lightness of being that seems to surround me when that smell of spring is in the air.  But yesterday afternoon, when I returned home, I came across a little bird in the driveway.  I have always said that the animal kingdom brings me messages and this one is no exception.  Except I am not quite sure the meaning.

He looks peaceful so I can’t determine how or why the tiny bird is deceased.  (So, yes, I’ve arbitrarily decided it’s a he).  There are no signs of an abrupt attack.  Why he is in the driveway and not on the adjacent grass is curious to me as well.  Even though I did take a photo of him, it seemed too sad for me to post, so I chose another photo of a similarly looking bird today.

For me, he is a reminder that with life comes death and all that encompasses the in-between.  We learn these lessons as we grow and explore the meaning of our lives.  So many times we take for granted what is and forget that life is precious – to be enjoyed, to be shared with love and to be cognizant of that delicate balance between the past, the present and the unknown future.

I also feel that spiritually for me, it signifies the end and the preparation of a new beginning for the next chapter in my life.  Do you feel that way too?

I am not even sure what type of little bird he is – perhaps a sparrow?  I said a small prayer for him, gave thanks for his presence and interred him in the backyard by myself.  I wonder if he has any loved ones who worried when he didn’t return to the nest last night?  Is there a mama or partner bird who is mourning the loss of her love?

Be sweet today.  A gentle reminder to hug and love on those for whom you care so deeply.  We only have today, so take the gift of The Presents of Presence, not for granted, but with the deep understanding that resides in your heartlight.

Bumble Bee Encounter

Bumble Bee

Precious First Bumble Bee

It’s the end of April and spring has arrived, finally!  As I sat outside today, in the pale morning sun, two chubby bumble bees buzzed in the lawn nearby, seeming to enjoy the nectar in the grass.

While I wasn’t able to get a shot of both of them together, here is one of them.  What I loved was that as they went about their business, I was reminded of how inspirational they truly are.  At least I think so, because aerodynamically, there aren’t equipped to fly and yet, they do!  I love how they stop and smell the roses (quite literally and yes, silly pun intended) and yet, they also are very productive.

Quite literally, a perfect combination of work and play and isn’t that what life’s all about?

Of course, if you’ve been reading here for any length of time, you know how much I love the animals that I encounter.  I always feel as if they’ve stopped by to send me a special message.  I looked up bumble bee spirit animal message and smiled.

Here’s the lovely message that spoke to me!

What a perfect way to begin the Spring, don’t you think?

Doesn’t it get your heartlight revving?
