Rabbit Rabbit October 1st

rabbitrabbitoct

It’s the first of the month and you know what you need to do, right?  Say…

Rabbit Rabbit White Rabbit White Rabbit!

May the chill in the air invigorate you

May the falling leaves blanket a path upon the earth for you to walk

May the bejeweled colors ignite your creativity

May what is no longer needed in your life fall away

May comfort foods nourish you

May family time warm your heart

May your head fall upon the pillow nightly with gratitude for the day’s events

May you snuggle down in front of a warm fireside at the end of the day

And fall in love.*

Shine On!

I can’t believe the date!  August 1st already?!  Time has flown by this summer.  I remember my Mom’s family always saying that time speeds up as we get older.  But here we are again dear friends!  The first of the month and you know what that means, don’t you?

Rabbit Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit!

So say it with me and enjoy all the blessings the month ahead brings to you and yours!

Cats and Dogs

tuffyTiffy ~ American Bobtail

Lately, I’ve been working like a dog, which is no surprise because I’m sure at times we all feel that way.  It’s the dog-days of summer so the heat affects us as well.  We’ve had bouts of raining cats and dogs too.  Are you following my animal analogies?

Dogs are people too, have you heard that phrase?  Dog is man’s best friend.  You call a dog and he comes (usually).  But call a cat?  Not such great odds that the cat will even hear you let alone think about moving out of his warm spot in the sunshine.  Have you ever attempted to corral a bunch of cats into one area?  If you have, then you know how anxious it can make you.  Just as you think they are all herded into one single area, one hops the fence, another squeezes through a crack, while the others walk around, tails high in the air, not a care in the world.  Grab the escapees and the ones who you were sure were just lazing around and grooming themselves, but have now decided to take off and explore on their own, regardless that you are calling their names.  For a moment, all is well.

Does this sound familiar to you?  Metaphorically of course, because unless you are a crazy cat lady, you don’t have so many cats in one area.  We have two ~ Tiffy is a little diva, a snuggle kitty, my constant companion, a chatterbox and the winner of the best fur therapy giver award.  It is to Tiffy whom we whisper our frustrations, snuggling into her fluffy, soft fur, burying our faces streamed with tears when nobody else is home.  The holder of secrets and yet she is a demanding and independent thinker who just lives by her own clock, her own mind and her own needs.  And yet, we adore her!  Our younger family member is Tigger who is still a little sprite of energy, even after being with us for four years.  She quite literally runs our household now, including running Tiffy who is not used to anything more than a sedentary lifestyle.  It’s been an adjustment for sure, for us all, but mostly for Tiffy who welcomed a friend, but on her terms.  Tigger brings vitality to our home.  Her shenanigans amuse us and her willingness to play with anything and everything keeps us on our toes.  Her nickname is the hooligan!

So how are cats like people?  Well, dogs are what we people would like to be, what we would like to have as our comrades, those with whom we come into constant contact.  To me, a dog is mostly friendly, happy, without secrets.  A dog needs water, food, a bit of playtime with a ball and is simply happy to be here with you.  Canines notoriously make excellent pets because they are reliable and their mood shows directly in their posture, on their face and mostly, they are happy to see you.  They are without cares, do not hold grudges and you can easily read them by their stance.  In other words, they are what we would like the people in our lives to be.

Cats, who get a bad rap for being more independent, are more like people.  They rock their own tune in their head and don’t rely on being told what to do like dogs.  They have their own agenda and aren’t afraid to hiss when things don’t go their way.  They build trust slowly, but surely.  They have 9 lives and like to nestle in the most obscure places, like the linen closet.  Rarely do they come when called unless it suits them.  Most of the time, you can’t read their minds (unless I put out the tuna treat and then I know that I am number one in their book for awhile).

While we don’t have a dog in our home, we love them and would have one if we could.  But for now, it would upset the feline energy here at the moment.  Friends of ours just had a litter of black lab pups that are calling my name.  I can’t upset the household with a new puppy, but it sure would make for some crazy future posts!

June 1st!  You know what that means, don’t you?  Rabbit Rabbit, White Rabbit White Rabbit!

I looked back to the original post and it was on June 1, 2014 that I began the tradition.  Does it seem like it’s been four years already?  Time certainly flies in some respects and with others, it’s very slow and sometimes tedious.

But today’s a celebration – an anniversary of sorts for the four years that I’ve been reminding you to welcome the new month full of goodness!  So join me today in cheering for a month ahead filled with heartlights shining, love surrounding us and all the goodness this Universe has to offer each and every one of us!

Smile today!  Feel the blessings that are bestowed on you and raise your vibrations to embrace all with whom you connect today – especially yourself!

In Retrospective – Goodbye Daily Post Prompt

inretrospectivegoodbyedailypostprompt

The Daily Post Prompt’s ending has me being retrospective considering over the years I have enjoyed the one word prompting and the community of bloggers who took the time to write posts that used it.

Having The Daily Prompt brought many new readers to my blog and also gave me the opportunity to meet new bloggers to follow and to connect with over the years.  While I don’t know the reason for the ending of it, I am grateful to have been a part of it, on and off, over the years I’ve been blogging.

My heartfelt thanks to those who by their imagination and perseverance, gave us the daily prompting as by their hard work and ingenuity, we became a community of people who could participate or not, depending on our blogging styles.

Keep shining your heartlights dear bloggers!  We are still a strong community and I look forward to continuing to read your posts and sharing our stories.

Oh May, What A Treat!

ohmaywhatatreat.PNG

What a treat to get up every morning and greet the day ahead!  Don’t you think?  As a glass 1/2 full type of gal, I enjoy mornings and the clean slate on which to etch the day.  As I sip my morning coffee, I begin my day in quiet stillness.  It’s my favorite time of day.

Ode to May’s Treat

I hope that today brings you peace within.

May the sun shine into your life.

If you have clouds and rain as I do, know that it is within the darkness that the stars become brighter.

May gratitude and peace surround you.

May your wishes be fulfilled.

May you revel in God’s love.

Open your heartlight to the Universe and allow love to flow to you, from you and within you.

May healing encompass you.

May peace within you germinate and grow.

May love fill your heart to overflowing and may you extend that love to connect with all whom you meet.

May forgiveness be yours – to be given and received.

May mercy follow you and ignite your being.

May grace and dignity walk beside with you.

May you take the higher path without stumbling.

May joy guide you on your path.

May this day be a new beginning for each of us!

Shine On!

If Wishes Were Horses…

ifwisheswerehorses

My mother’s southern family used to say:

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

Have you ever heard that saying?  Whenever I’ve said it to someone else, they have looked at me as if I’d lost my mind and always asked me to repeat it.  When I did, they’d be still stumped, wondering why in the world I chose that expression.

But for me, with a yard full of dandelions that have sprouted up seemingly overnight, are being snacked on by the birds and spreading their cheery yellow faces and wishes to the winds, it seems appropriate.

Because I’ve got wishes galore and lucky for me, I’ve got all the dandelions to wish on!

So on this rainy Wednesday, I’m sharing my wealth of wishes with you.  Please imagine yourself virtually stopping by to wish upon a dandelion with me.  I will tenderly pick you one of those white puffballs with the exposed seeds and hand it to you.  Together we can blow on it and send the seeds flying into the air onto the breeze as you make your special wish to the Universe.

Believe me, I have plenty of dandelion wishes, so come and enjoy a wish from me to you!  I have plenty to share and would love to lift your wish to the Universe in hopes that all your wishes are fulfilled!

Little Bird Laid To Rest

littlebirdlaidtorest

The bumble bee encounter had me buzzing with life’s renewal and the lightness of being that seems to surround me when that smell of spring is in the air.  But yesterday afternoon, when I returned home, I came across a little bird in the driveway.  I have always said that the animal kingdom brings me messages and this one is no exception.  Except I am not quite sure the meaning.

He looks peaceful so I can’t determine how or why the tiny bird is deceased.  (So, yes, I’ve arbitrarily decided it’s a he).  There are no signs of an abrupt attack.  Why he is in the driveway and not on the adjacent grass is curious to me as well.  Even though I did take a photo of him, it seemed too sad for me to post, so I chose another photo of a similarly looking bird today.

For me, he is a reminder that with life comes death and all that encompasses the in-between.  We learn these lessons as we grow and explore the meaning of our lives.  So many times we take for granted what is and forget that life is precious – to be enjoyed, to be shared with love and to be cognizant of that delicate balance between the past, the present and the unknown future.

I also feel that spiritually for me, it signifies the end and the preparation of a new beginning for the next chapter in my life.  Do you feel that way too?

I am not even sure what type of little bird he is – perhaps a sparrow?  I said a small prayer for him, gave thanks for his presence and interred him in the backyard by myself.  I wonder if he has any loved ones who worried when he didn’t return to the nest last night?  Is there a mama or partner bird who is mourning the loss of her love?

Be sweet today.  A gentle reminder to hug and love on those for whom you care so deeply.  We only have today, so take the gift of The Presents of Presence, not for granted, but with the deep understanding that resides in your heartlight.

Shine On!

May 1st Rabbit Rabbit

may1strabbitrabbit

Rabbit Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit to you today on this First of May!

This sweet bunny has such a cute face that I had to use him today.  You know how excited I get when a new month begins!  You know my ritual too if you have been here for awhile.  I get so inspired by a new month, let alone how inspired I am every morning when I wake up!  I love that there’s a whole new day and month on which to build memories with others and for myself.

I hope that you remember to say Rabbit Rabbit today and that you enjoy the month ahead to its fullest!  Hop along with joy, with kindness and with your heartlight shining in all you do!

Bumble Bee Encounter

Bumble Bee

Precious First Bumble Bee

It’s the end of April and spring has arrived, finally!  As I sat outside today, in the pale morning sun, two chubby bumble bees buzzed in the lawn nearby, seeming to enjoy the nectar in the grass.

While I wasn’t able to get a shot of both of them together, here is one of them.  What I loved was that as they went about their business, I was reminded of how inspirational they truly are.  At least I think so, because aerodynamically, there aren’t equipped to fly and yet, they do!  I love how they stop and smell the roses (quite literally and yes, silly pun intended) and yet, they also are very productive.

Quite literally, a perfect combination of work and play and isn’t that what life’s all about?

Of course, if you’ve been reading here for any length of time, you know how much I love the animals that I encounter.  I always feel as if they’ve stopped by to send me a special message.  I looked up bumble bee spirit animal message and smiled.

Here’s the lovely message that spoke to me!

What a perfect way to begin the Spring, don’t you think?

Doesn’t it get your heartlight revving?
