Tired of Starting Over?

79868405_

“If you’re tired of starting over, stop giving up.” – Unknown

I read some statistics the other day which said:

* 80% of people bail on their New Year’s Resolutions by the end of week 2

 * 98% of people bail on their New Year’s Resolutions by the end of week 4

So the key question is: Will you be part of the 2%?

Please answer YES!

TGIF’s Present

“Pick the day ~ enjoy it to the hilt.  The day as it comes.  People as they come…The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present – and I don’t want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future.” ~ Audrey Hepburn

Enjoy your special day ~ Thank Goodness it’s Friday ~ and for some, a 3 day weekend!  I saw this and thought it was a great one to share!  See below for photo credit and I guess I get the credit for making the card! ♥

Happy, Happy, Light, Joy!

79835721_“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”  ~ Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love:  Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles”

Fear encompasses us when we allow the darkness to permeate our inner light.  So often it occurs when we feel a setback to our New Year’s Resolutions or when we feel we are floundering in the sea of uncertainty.  We wonder why we are writing our blogs, what could people find that we have to offer.  We feel unworthy to write, to speak, to persevere.  But that is just the fear talking.  My fears are mighty, I admit.  But my light, when I combine with others, is strong, solid and all-encompassing when I allow it to radiate like the sun.

So I am asking for you to bond with me this year.  To add your flame to our fire of light and to SOAR with me among the skies.  Drop fear from your vocabulary.  Give it not one ounce of thought as we go forward in 2014.  We can hold hands, band together like souls who soar.  Our momentum grows as do our numbers.

Do you feel it?  Can you picture all of our lights together, growing bolder as the days go by, hear our singing of happy freedom as we pursue what formerly held us back and rise like the angels taught us?  Can you picture it?  I can.  There’s a soft spot in my heart which holds the light of joy inside of me.  It’s small, but steady.  The light shines though the darkness I have known and yet still, she happily shines.

I am a small flame of hope, of health, of love.  I dare not ever put her out and allow the darkness to encompass me.  So I stand peacefully, allowing her to gain strength and to encourage others to do the same.  Will you join me in 2014?  Will you allow your flickering light to join mine to happily light the way?  We will fear not – for the light is within us and we are able to pursue whatever our hearts desire for it is there for us all.  Do you see it?  Can you feel it?  Happy, Happy, Light, Joy!

Trust me.  A tapestry for each of us is woven bit by bit as you desire to create it ~ full of rich colors, experiences and textures ~ all joyfully shining through the darkness and lighting up the night.

Take my hand and let’s…

Shine On!

Launching Resolutions

79811258_create the life you always dreamed you could have ~ not the one you think you will be able to have

I found this quote this morning and I wanted to share it because I think it’s a great reminder!  With all the resolutions which are happening around us, I am sticking with my LOVE theme for the year, with a touch of TAPESTRY from yesterday’s post.  In fact, I like the idea of perhaps MAKING A LOVE TAPESTRY in my life which can encompass anything and everything I need in order to CREATE THE LIFE I ALWAYS DREAMED I COULD HAVE!

My goal, as always, is to have you find a tidbit which stays with you or at least makes you think ‘a-ha’ or even pass along to a friend.

What does your life look like?

How to Make 2014 Your Best Year Yet!

tapestry**Tapestry information at end of post.

Open Your Journey  inspires me.  I had already decided on the LOVE theme for my 2014.  But now I think my theme is growing richer after I read the insightful way my friend, the Bobbilama as I like to refer to the author of Open Your Journey, thinks!  Read on…perhaps her take on New Year’s Resolutions resonates with you as well!

“This year I decided not to make resolutions which I will end up breaking within a week or two anyway. Plus, I don’t enjoy feeling like a failure every January. So, I was telling my friend that I’ve decided to simply have a “theme” instead of a resolution for this year’s growth. She laughed when I told her that, but I really mean it. I told her that my theme this year is “Tapestry” and I explained that it’s only one word (so I can remember it), but it stands for a complex concept for this next phase of my journey. And what I love about it most is that a theme is gentle and there is no amount to accomplish so I cannot fail! How cool is that?

So here is what I described. I told her that this year I am not making a list. I really don’t just want to have more stuff, or weigh less, get more fit, volunteer more, or eat better. Instead, I want all areas of my life to gradually mature like a richly interwoven tapestry. Then I gave her these examples of some of the qualities I wish to nurture.

~ I want my mind to be more present when I listen to others, and not be thinking of what I will say next, or how it will impact me.

~ I want to practice speaking only when I have something worth saying for the person I’m connecting with at that time.

~ I want to have relationships that have more dimension due to greater understanding and support – and without the need for approval.

~ I want to trust my inner spirit over my ego’s need to control my world.

~ I want to work towards self-actualizing into a woman who knows the power of her wisdom and respects it herself.

~ And lastly, I want to really, really feel love for all beings regardless of what I perceive as their limits.

So that’s my simple plan for 2014…to be more mindful of my own tapestry.

What would you like to choose for the theme of your mindfulness for this next year?

Whatever it is, I wish you a loving and self-actualizing new year!” from Open Your Journey click here to visit her blog!

Love the One You’re With

74612352_I ♥ Me!

Stop for a moment.  Without thinking, answer this simple question,

“Do you love yourself?”

What was the answer that came out of your mouth first?  Was it an enthusiastic YES!  Or was it hesitant silence?  Or was it a quiet “maybe” or was it a shake of the head meaning “no.”  There’s no right or wrong answer at this time.  It matters not what your immediate answer was because we are starting with baby steps.

We are starting this 2014 with LOVING YOU!

So let’s begin…

Commit to Loving Yourself this year.

Every bit of you from the tip of your head to the tip of your toes!

1.  Find a mirror, look at your beautiful self and repeat to your image…

“I Love Me.

I Love You (insert your name).”

2.  How did it make you feel?  Were you uncomfortable?  Were you happy?  Did you smile at yourself?

3.  Whatever your reaction was, it was perfect for you at this time!

Take my hand and with time, we will make it an even better one!

One baby step at a time!

4.  Your job today (should you choose the Love theme of 2014) is to do the above exercise 3x today.

Note how if makes you feel when you do it!

That’s it!

You are loved.

Shine On!

Let It Go…

Captureq

From the new Disney movie Frozen ~ I just happened to find this last night and it rang so clearly in my brain.  I know nothing of the movie nor the character in the movie, but the clip certainly held me so I’m sharing!  Here I am…let the storm rage on!  I’m not afraid of the cold!

Idina Menzel’s Lyrics

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation
And it looks like I’m the queen

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn’t keep it in, heaven knows I’ve tried

Don’t let them in, don’t let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know
Well, now they know

Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don’t care what they’re going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway

It’s funny how some distance makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me can’t get to me at all
It’s time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I’m free

Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You’ll never see me cry
Here I stand and here I’ll stay
Let the storm rage on

My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back, the past is in the past

Let it go, let it go
And I’ll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway

Hit a Home Run!

11585211_You can’t hit a home run unless you step up to the plate.

How many times have you said to yourself that you want to hit a home run, get a goal, score points, make something, do something, accomplish something ~  succeed at something etc?  And how many times did you really accomplish your goal?  And how many times did you quit before you even gave yourself a chance to succeed?

I’ve found that there are times where I have the goal in mind but somehow I neglect stepping up to the plate because I’m frightened.  Does that happen to you too?  You fail before you even begin and you can give yourself a million senseless reasons and give into the fear of failure without ever stepping up to the plate?

Well, today’s the day to step up to the proverbial plate and swing!

You can do it!  I know you can!  I’m your biggest fan!

Where in Nature Do You Find Your Peace?

thebeach

 I am soothed here.

I’m a Jersey Girl, although not the Snooki kind, but the real-life gal who grew up going to the beach everyday she could, who finds the sound of the ocean soothing and who goes in search of the sand between her toes, the sun in the sky glistening on the water and the waves crashing gently to shore in order to soothe her soul.  That’s me.  A drive to the beach will suffice when the weather’s too cold to dip my toes into the ocean, but I must smell the briny scent of the ocean’s perfume in order to completely find my peace within.

Do you have a special peaceful place in nature that you call your own?

Are you a beach person like me?  Or do the mountains beckon to your soul?

Do the lakes have your heart?  Or does the chilly snow hold you?

Does crunching in fallen, gem-colored leaves soften your sadness?

Or does the howling wind blow away your troubles?

Do raindrops wash away your tears?  Does the acrid desert drain your worries?

Does the sunshine call your name?

Or do moonbeams beckon your feet to dance?

Do twinkling stars ignite your passion?

Or do clouds feather your dreams?

Please share with me ~ I’d love to hear where you find you peace!

Shine On!
