The Peony

My sweet neighbors always remember me when their peonies bloom. It is a Springtime tradition that began long ago and continued even after I moved away and one that I am so grateful for each and every year.

There is nothing like a clear beautiful vase filled with the sweetest smell of freshly cut peonies in a home, especially ones that are delivered with kindness. My house has been so aromatic for the last week that I couldn’t help but to grin broadly each and every morning as I brewed my first cup of coffee for the peonies greeted me on the kitchen island!

I don’t often get fresh cut flowers anymore unless I buy them, but even then, sometimes they aren’t as fragrant as ones from a friend’s backyard. These were truly spectacular and I wish we had a smellavision on the blog so you could have enjoyed them too!

I was talking with a friend recently and the phrase, ‘kindness doesn’t cost anything’ was part of our conversation. How true is that! I always feel strongly about kindness. Don’t you?

Anyway, being that it’s June first and it seems my bunny has found greener pastures, I just wanted to send you a little blog post to let you know I am thinking of all of you and hoping you’re doing well!

You know as a gentle reminder, I can’t help myself and say, Rabbit Rabbit!

Shine On!

  1. Wabbit, wabbit to you also dear lady, a kinder hello I could not want 😀
And I think a smellapost would be great, the flower looks fantastic. And I am sorry to hear your bunnies haven’t reappeared, but maybe that is to make way for a lovely pair of owls to share their wisdom…or at least some nice new wise flower loving neighbour’s to take over from your last garden enthusiast that shared their blooms 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋 😂 🤣

    • Thanks Mark! I love how you think! 🙂 I haven’t seen any owls as of late, but I will be on the lookout! Many robins have visited this year along with the sweet chipmunk that likes to stop nearby. I hope your sweet animal pals are still visiting you too! I hope your’e feeling great! Sending healing hugs. 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋 😂 🤣

      • Thank you Yvonne, I am going much better even though a slow recovery. It has been an interesting lesson in humility and grace…and in the process a ‘hatching’. I’ve changed considerably but I can feel something opening within but I’m still not sure what it is. An ‘event’ (not like the last one…I hope), is on the horizon ❤️
I have had a few dolphins reappearing, my magpies are arriving at dawn and singing to me (I think I’ve been included in the family 🤣), and even the locals are coming alive again and saying hello even though the virus hasn’t been anywhere near as bad as the rest of the world. We had avoided the nasty strain until just recently and it has taken off in Victoria and they are struggling to contain it.
        Ah, life…it will be the making of us 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

      • Life will be the making of us Mark! What a beautiful quote to remind us all. I am sending huge healing hugs. I’m so happy that the magpies have adopted you into their family and that the dolphins are reappearing! How wonderful! Stay healthy and safe my friend. I’ve got you in my prayers! xo
