I Hope You Dance
I’m including the video and lyrics to the song above which came out in 2000. Back then, it was special to me because I thought it was what I wanted my children to learn about life. Now it is a gentle reminder for myself as well. ♥
May you be reminded and inspired today and everyday ~ Keep your heartlight shining!
Shine On!

I Hope You Dance ~ Lee Ann Womack
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance….I hope you dance.
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin’ might mean takin’ chances but they’re worth takin’,
Lovin’ might be a mistake but it’s worth makin’,
Don’t let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin’ out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance….I hope you dance.
I hope you dance….I hope you dance.
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along,
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone.)
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
Dance….I hope you dance.
I hope you dance….I hope you dance.
I hope you dance….I hope you dance..
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone)
This is lovely! 🙂 i am feeling little bit sad these days, this was very comforting and inspiring ❤ I also loved that you included the lyrics, it is not always easy to hear all the words in songs ❤ I love the lyrics 🙂 Thank you! ❤ Hugs!

❤ If you ever need and ear I'm still here. ❤
I loved this song back then and I still love it. And you’re right…it’s a message we need at all stages of our lives.
I HEARTily agree! ♥
Reblogged this on Heartspoken at WordPress.com and commented:
The wisdom of this song and message is just as important now as when it first came out. We want this for our children, of course, but we should embrace it for ourselves, no matter how old we are.
Much gratitude for reblogging ~ I feel the same way you do about the song. I love when kindred spirits connect! Have a fabulous day ~ I hope it includes ‘dancing’ too! ♥
I do dance. A lot more lately. I’m approaching my 58th birthday and I started tap dance lessons about 6 weeks ago. I’m loving it! And I still dance otherwise, because it just makes me feel good.
How wonderful! Good for you Karen! I’ve always wanted to try tap ~ is it as hard as it looks (even though everyone makes it look so seamless when they tap!) I’m proud of you! ♥
I wouldn’t say it’s easy. I practice a lot and when I finally “get” a new step, it’s thrilling. And it’s a heck of a work out. I’ve been having a load of fun.
That’s so awesome! I’m proud of you! ♥
Sing and Dance! Yes. It nourishes our very being. I love this sone too ❤️
Me too Val! It’s just a such good reminder for all ages! ♥
Beautiful! I think of this song sometimes when I’m out dancing a fool in my backyard 🙂 Dance like no one is watching 🙂
Oh yes! Dance like no one is watching! Love your attitude! ♥ I’ll join you and DANCE!
