I have lived pain, and my life can tell: I only deepen the wound of the world when I neglect to give thanks the heavy perfume of wild roses in early July and the song of crickets on summer humid nights and the rivers that run and the stars that rise and the rain that falls and all the good things that a good God gives. ~ Ann Voskamp
I know it’s the coming towards the end of July, but I found this quote last night and wanted to share it with all of you. Ann Voskamp is the author of One Thousand Gifts: A Dare To Live Fully Right Where You Are which spent 60 weeks on the NY Times Best Seller’s List. Although I had never heard of her before, nor have I read her books, I may be reading them soon!
Don’t neglect the perfume of wild roses, the song of crickets, the stars and rain and all that July brings.
I love summer and this beautiful poem! ❤
Me too Diana! Happy summer to YOU! ♥
Happy summer to you too!
This is really good. I know firsthand how trials tend to narrow our focus to the negative. But it’s true, there are many blessings along the path of hardship. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂
I know you understand as do I. So wonderful to see your beautiful self here. Thinking of you. ♥
Thank you. It’s good to return. I’ve taken a bit of a break from blogging. I always love reading your blog. 💗
As I always love reading yours. I’m glad you have returned. We missed you. ♥
Love the shift of thought…July does have its specialness. Thank you for keeping us focused on the positive!
