A Secret to Grasp

rumi

When I run after what I think I want,
my days are a furnace of stress and anxiety;
if I sit in my own place of patience,
what I need flows to me, and without pain.
From this I understand that what I want also wants me,
is looking for me and attracting me.
There is a great secret here for anyone who can grasp it.
~Rumi

So, with that information, my plan this week is to ‘sit in my own place of patience’ and allow the flow of goodness to come to me, be attracted to me and to envelope me with its stillness and wisdom.  Opportunities flow for us all.  Let us…

Shine On!

    I agree with Line! Beautiful quote of a great Master of wisdom! Thank you Yvonne.

  2. Loving the Rumi. 🙂 Yes, I have learned this too.. Everything most sacred has come this way. ❤ Of course I still forget and start running too. 🙂 Today I was thinking that it is better to have less and it be more sacred having come to me. Sometimes the subtle little things that someone else might have missed are even more sacred than the big things.

  3. I really love this quote and truly believe in the power of patience. This power is really just a heightened awareness of timing…not to be rushed…never to be forced. When you become in sync with this timing, the whole universe rises up to meet you! Wonderful post Yvonne…thanks 4 inspiring all of us today…and please read “The Guest House” by Rumi…one of my favorites! Xo!

  4. Just a poem…and simply beautiful. It’s about allowing oneself to feel what they are feeling…to invite these emotions in. Each emotion is there to teach us something. Xo

  5. Reblogged this on Teacher as Transformer and commented:
    Rumi and other Sufi poets provide practical wisdom after 800 years. Viktor Frankl wrote that we do not find meaning in life. Life finds meaning in us. Patience and quietness are important in the listening we undertake to let that meaning reveal itself and speak to us.

  6. I read somewhere that thinking is an addiction. For me, this “running after” that Rumi speaks of, has always been thinking, reading, and researching….far more often than I “sit in my own place of patience”. This is just as true in my spiritual approach as it is in other areas…….but I’m working on it….argh! I mean, I’m sitting in patience so that what I want can find me!

  7. I could have used this sage advice a few days ago. 🙂 Thanks for sharing Ivon. (I’m guessing I found it because I’ve stopped stressing. LOL
