First Day of Summer

Lifeguard stand is down.  Beach is closed.  Two years since your heart stopped beating Dad on your favorite day of the year, Summer.  Thinking of you and all that’s transpired between us.  Life goes on, but you live in my heart.  When my toes meet the sand, I will think of you.  I got my love of the beach because you made it a big part of our lives.  It is where I feel most at peace.  I send up a quiet prayer.  Rest in Peace Dad.

Shine On!

  1. His memory is a blessing; his love with you always. I tell myself this all the time – and it’s been thirteen years since my dad left. It seems like it was yesterday and I miss him everyday.

  2. His energy is with you…when you are open (or fell the sand between your toes), you’ll be aware of his messages…only his body left. XOXO

  3. What a beautiful post Yvonne! 🙂 It touched my heart 🙂 You know what I did when I lost one of my grannies…I made a small boat of wood and lit two candles and placed on it, and wrote a little prayer for my granny on the wood with pencil, and then I sent the little boat out into the ocean, It felt very nice to do that 🙂 Big hugs to you! ❤ ❤ ❤
